Thanks kmath! At the moment, I've into learning DAW's more than making music, it's fun (yeah, I need to get a life soon ). So I will have to install Radium and see how I like the workflow.

FWIW, I broke down and upgraded to Ableton 10 Standard and was able to add on Max For Live at half off. So, it didn't take me long to find what I needed, which works perfectly [http://maxforlive.com/library/device/3421/step-recorder].
