Hi
The problem with Samplitude Music Studio is, that you have to buy a new version every year, if you want to stay actual. There are no free updates at all. And also the Magix forum is very bad, if you have any question there. If you like the workflow of SMS, then you better take a look at Mixcraft Studio Pro 8. The workflow is nearly the same. You get free updates between the main version numbers and find a helpful forum. The included instruments and effects are as good as in SMS, or better.
Greetings

Anybody using Samplitude Music Studio?

I would recommend to give this one a fair trial:
https://www.bandlab.com/products/cakewalk
I used it for a couple of years starting with X1 version. It did crash occasionally but nothing that made me stop using it. You will get some good effects plugins with it and some decent soft synths. Some users reported that it was unusable on their system. So give it a good run to see if it works for you.
PS: They are releasing monthly updates as well.

Well, I’ve been demoing various DAWs. While Samplitude Music Studio and Mixcraft are certainly good DAWs, they’re really niche products. Especially Samplitude. Acid Pro’s neither one thing or the other, sort of in between Samplitude and Magix Music Maker. I wonder who their target customers are.
Anyway, I downloaded Cubase and I like it a lot, much easier workflow than I anticipated, but then I made the "mistake" and also downloaded FL Studio. Insta love! The piano roll is fantastic. There’s a bunch of good synths and FXplugins that would go nicely with what I already got. The workflow is a bit different, but also very straightforward. To be fair I’d have to compare Cubase Artist with FL Studio. So, I’ll stick to my 30 day trial of Cubase Elements and then I decide. Or maybe I try my luck with Waveform 10 after all. It's going to be a very tough decision.

FWIW, you should be able to get a license for Cubase LE for about $10-$15, either here or on Ebay. Cubase's piano roll, and especially, the Drum Editor are great, IMHO. If you do decide to go with Elements, you could put up a WTB in the Marketplace. It's usually part of a bundle with a hardware purchase, and lots of people have no use for it, so they sell it. Once you register that, you have an upgrade path to Cubase Elements for $49. Save yourself a few bucks...
FLStudio is fine, and may be worth it for you in the long run, but it's a much larger investment up front. It doesn't matter anyhow. If you keep hanging out at KVR, you'll end up owning them all, sooner or later.
