Oh my god this looks awesome!!!! Been using standard clip, this seems inspired by it...but dare i say this takes it even further??
I am so glad to see people making clipping/saturation plugins with the proper care taken when it comes to oversampling/antialiasing.
Really good stuff. Going to demo (and almost certainly buy) now.
Only just found out about you guys - glad i did!!

I just compared them and somehow the OVC-128 uses as much cpu at 128x oversampling as the V-clip at x16 oversampling. When I used V-clip at 128x it used almost double the cpu as Voxengo. Makes for a tough choice even though the features and flexibility of V-clip are so great. V-clip would be a no brainer if not for the high processing demand. This was with the VST3 in Cubase.

I find the CPU load quite low given that the sound of the clipper is very, very good! at least as K-Clip if not better I'd say..
Note that the different algos have different CPU loads..

Here's a suggestion for the devs: have oversampling options for real-time and also for rendering, that way people can use the clipper with maybe 2x or 4x and render @ >16x

After trying this i have to say, i am seriously impressed. The level of detail is stunning in the 'custom' mode.
I thought standard clip was the gold standard in clipping. Obviously K-clip is exceptional too..now we have three incredibly high quality clippers all for very little money. i love this push towards extreme oversampling and quality, it is really nice to see.
I do agree that separate render settings would be great. Also, the plugin reacts a bit slower for me in 'custom' mode...don't know if that is just because it uses more CPU in that mode.

All in all this is fantastic. love the Ableton-esque look too. Really well done. Off to buy if right now.

I've only begun integrating clippers into work this year and finding out what I like and don't like about when I've use them. So far just from a collection of the free/jr versions before I spend money on one. I would be curious what experienced clipper users think about the clippers in Barricade4, which I hadn't even realized was there, buried in the menu of input models.

The appeal of getting either this or standard clip is
1. They are extremely detailed in the way you can set them up.
2. The metering is superb
3. The sound quality is on a completely different level. The over sampling on both goes up to 256x

With this clipper it is actually much much more than even standard clip (which was the previous gold standard - as someone who is obsessed with high quality clippers)
Because you can do much more than hard clip and soft clip, as well as complex shaping aaaand even clipping the positive and negative parts of the wave separately.
It really is a very very clever tool.

Standard clip was as close to a perfect tool as you can get. This one goes beyond perfect!
Bought it after less than 5 mins of playing.
It is only 30 bucks. Absolute bargain!

Honestly having them both isnt the worst thing. I do love standard clip for the hard clipping, along eith the 'soft clip pro' modes.
But V clip has a ton of amazing modes. Both of these tools, along with K Clip are incredibly high quality. Can't go wrong with any of them.
Interesting to see people talking about the voxengo - i wasn't aware of that one, thogh their products are normally very high quality also.
So it seems there are a number of good options now.

One thing i will say about V Clip and Standard Clip - the metering is great. it is probably a bit more immediate and obvious with standard clip. So for those new to clipping - that could be a good (and very cheap) place to start. But V clip has blown me away. Been using it non stop since purchasing.

V clip, in my estimation, is really very good at soft clipping..and can be used on a very wide array of sources. More so than others i have used. It feels like i can be more gentle with it.

I'd like to see a fully resizable GUI, but more important a vertical zoom for the waveform in the Visualizer window, like in GClip. Right now things can get a little tiny on a hi-res screen, especially with low signal waveforms. Otherwise an excellent product!

Hey guys, V-Clip has now been updated with an offline/export only oversampling factor setting! :)

Hey, just some food for thoughts:
Personally I don't mind too much, but I think more people would consider to feature the plugin in a youtube video, if there wasn't the licensee's email address on the gui. I know it is partly there to shame pirates, but someone like -I don't know let's say- Dave Pensado, Fab Dupont, Warren Huart, Andrew Sheps, Reid Stefan... would generally not want to present personal e-mail addresses on the internet, that may be connected to their paypal accounts.
kind regards

Oh wow that's a good point - will look into adding an option to hide it soon.
