to be noted on multi out VSTi it freezes ALL the outs.
the freeze is week.
i made a 'freeze' macro
it just bounces the track to disk and imports to a new track.
at least this way i can futz with the gain and even add fx

A little resentment there? Does any other program have track freeze?Robert Randolph wrote:It should, but we're talking steinberg....Wopelka wrote:correct me if i'm wrong, but freezing should take as much time as rendering the same track to .wav
there's A LOT of things that should happen, they always find a way to make for damn sure it doesnt.

Every host 'freezes' that supports audio, period. I've been 'freezing' tracks logn before the term ever came up. It's a lazy man macro is all it really is.
Logic and Tracktion freezes BTW.

so does the meat in my freezer but I wouldn't want to use that either to make music

I'm a Luddite heresy maker too.....how long does it take to bounce to audio, save VST patch, save FX patch and switch off your midi track and VSTi.
Why all of a sudden when a new function comes out do so many people instantly forget the quicker old way of doing exactly the same thing.
All Freeze is, is render to audio FFS. To me, the whole point of going from h/w to PC audio is the unlimited audio capabilities. Why do we feel the need to have to run everything live on a PC? I can make a song just as quick and just as good quality on my old 1.1 CPU as any new 50GHz CPU.

I did this again and I got 6:23 total time to freeze, BUT as I was talking from memory it was only FOUR tracks and a song of 2 minutes length. (I was diddling with 4 diff songs this week, so...) Not 6 and 3:30.erussx2 wrote: If you think my tracks should only take 5 minutes let me know why and how please. I would appreciate it.
This is with Sampletank2. Now ST2 has lots of its own onboard quality effects therefore NO Cubase FX effects were applied to these tracks (4 stereo "audio-like" from ST2) and one of these tracks only comes into play for the last 10 seconds of play.
So... dont know maybe its total the lack of FX effects.
I also never used the 35 build, stayed at 33.
But the declaration of 30 minutes made earlier by someone seems a bit lenghty?
