I too recommend Audiokit D1, another of the great IOS synthesizers.

I have the Premier Edition so all iAps are free.

D1 syncing via Ableton Links.

It plays on my older iPads but I have to switch it to mono. Still sounds great!

I also recommend the spidericemidas patches! A very talented programmer.

They were working on MIDI Sync back in January 2019, but it turns out it's a bigger issue than originally thought. I doubt we'll see that before 2020 (same for AUv3 Plug-in support for iOS). Would be cool to get an actual AU for OSX (as well as VST for the PC).

Just discovered Audiokit Synth one. It's great! But I have 2 questions:

1. Have the developers abandoned this project?

2. Did they ever get around to implementing MIDI patch changes? I know from a comment on a YouTube video that at least one of the developers used it with the Korg Nanokey Studio, which is the controller I'm using it with... but I can't see any way to change patches using the controller.

This is an awesome synth. The sound is top-notch.

From what I gather, there's going to be a re-write more in line with the style of the recent releases.

But I wanted to caution against the recommendation of the D1 synth. Not that it isn't also a fantastic synth, but in its original form it ended up becoming very unstable over time. It has now also been re-written and released as 'King Of Digital'.

It’s also abandonware and hasn’t been updated in 3 years. It’s not even officially compatible with the latest iOS, though it seems to work still.

Hi to all i still use it, same as D1 - but it sometimes crashes... when they work, all is oki but im on ios 17... have very old tablet ... but for this ap is fine.... audiokit was one of first who make some great free aps....

Yeah, just a shame they're both abandonware. On iOS 18 they both can randomly crash as well (on an iPhone 14 Pro Max). Unacceptable in a professional environment - makes using these for performances a literal NO, and makes using them in a studio a PITA.
