Yeah that really rubbed me the wrong way for some reason. Obviously they don't owe their existing customers anything, but sometimes showing appreciation towards your loyal customers can have positive effects via word of mouth and of course future sales such as addons and version upgrades.

They realised that pretty quickly themselves after according comments to their Youtube video.
~15 minutes ago, they posted this as a pinned post under their video.

Judging from the comments, it's pretty clear that we missed the mark here. I'm sorry if we led folks to believe that this was going to be an announcement of new Studio One features. We would like to make it up to you, please use the coupon code HAPPY10YEARS at http://bit.ly/2mprUur to get a $79 Fat Channel Compressor Plug-in for free. ENDS FAST—act before 9/28!
This was a pleasant surprise... Thanks for posting...!

So, hit the button on the Tube P1B comp, and got it into my account but can't work out what happens now... the 'Download' button you're directed to is for the general Fat Channel Collection Vol 1 (which I already have). I ran it anyway, thinking it might allow/add this new purchase, but it just said that the Fat Channel Collection Vol 1 was already installed, and that was the end of it.

How can I just get and install the Tube P1B..? I've launched S1 and opened the Fat Channel XT and can't see any way to get the Tube P1B into it. I then tried from the main 'Studio One Extensions' dialog box. No go...

Any clues please folks..?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the Tube P1B is already part of the Fat Channel Collection Vol 1 so unfortunately you probably already have it.

If they think I'm gonna fork out £850 on one of these to use this free plugin...they can think again lol..

StudioLive Series III Rack Mixer

If you're a Studio One Pro user and had paid for Studio One 3 and got the Fat Channel Collection Volume 1 'which I assumed was part of version 4.0 / 4.5 Pro anyway) and was given away with 3.5 for free then, we already have these installed.

-----
The download options for these are:

Fat Channel Collection Volume 1 Studio One for Windows

Fat Channel Collection Volume 1 StudioLive Series III Rack Mixer Installer

Fat Channel Collection Volume 1 StudioLive Series III Console Mixer Installer
-----

I was kinda perplexed, the device is unlike others you find in the Fat Channel Strip from a visual standpoint, but with not having the hardware and obviously not otherwise been granted prior access to these. I wasn't sure if you could try and install it from the other StudioLive Series installers and will actually be functional in Studio One or if they are separate installers designated only for the referenced hardware, and a separate one designated only for Studio One. I've always assumed you could buy additional plugins for Studio One's Fat Channel XT to use, however that doesn't seem to be the case and requires that hardware. Humm.... just thinking as I type here...

But anyway, as it seems.. Presonus doesn't seem to be proving anything for Pro 4.0 / 4.5 users, unless I've completely missed something.

Tried the download install of the Fat Channel The Tube P1B
v1.0.0 with Studio One installed and it reports it's already installed.

The problem seems to be that they use a unified installer for all Fat Channel plugins.

Try this:
1. Go to my.presonus.com
2. My Products, Addons, the P1B should appear so click on it
3. Offline Activation and save the .license file somewhere
4. In Studio One, go to Studio One->Activate Purchased Items, Select License File
5. Browse to the .license file you downloaded in step 3
6. It should ask you to restart Studio One. After the restart, the P1B should appear in the Compressor drop-down menu in Fat Channel:

(The VT1 and RC500 are also great compressors, and have been free to add to your account for a while. You can "purchase" them for $0).

I only had to go to Studio One -> Activate purchased items, and could online activate the license there. Showed up in the list of licenses tied to my account.

In theory, that should work. However it seems it fails for some users (me included) and you have to use the offline activation method. I had the same problem when trying to install CTC-1.

Thanks for the steps, it's alive and working now.. :)

I had to switch my browser from firefox to chrome because clicking on the offline button resulted in an access denied page when I clicked on it, I use a few pop up blockers. Hands were tied it seemed.

Goes to show that, if you close the door on people who have been invited to the party, that there will be some sort of rebellion outside. But hay at least there is one good soul to come out and give some unexpected cake in the way of an effects plugin..for a limited time. It's not what people were expecting... I think many expected some sort of presentation / interviews and possibly updated new features to be revealed today on Studio One that are coming in the future, like you see with other companies.. but no...just what we saw today.

You’d think they would just do it it in Prof users accounts rather than hope they notice the giveaway within the small bracket of time. Aside from that it is a very nice compressor and thanks Presonus.

Yeh, the normal activation method wouldn't work for me either, thanks for prompting about the Offline method AF, I hadn't used that in a while. :tu:

I don't have the feeling that they owe me anything.
