Excellent idea vurt. I found that it's often not too difficult to get copywrite permission, especially from more obscure works of course. I once asked a Native American flutist named Stephen DeRuby by email if I could remix a track of his, adding Native American percussion loops (Acid's 'Voices of Native America') and backing Synth and share it online, and he said sure go ahead as long as I included his name on it. I thought that was very cool of him.
