It's incredibly pointless to be arguing with rabid & vapid fanboys over why they think their DAW is the best.
Questions about Ableton purchase edu or full, and used copy of Ableton.

I'm pretty sure Reaper has full MPE support, though.anomandaris1 wrote: Thu Feb 13, 2020 3:05 pmStill, any DAW can be used for creating music, so Live/Reaper/FL/whatever is perfectly fine, unless you need specific functionality working in a specific way (for example MPE - none of these is good for it, imo (FL 20 doesn't even support it at all).
There are things in Live that are absent (or not as well developed) in Bitwig, so if someone need those particular features then obviously Live will be better for them. So his reply is only personal to the extent that for his person Live is better

Try editing something you recorded. It's a complete mess when you have to deal with 16 midi channels, Reaper's filter and you don't know what is written where. So, as long as you don't intend to edit it, it's fine (or maybe the developers think it's OK to just re-record the part, which is fine for a pop/edm riff, but not for a solo or long melody.)

Really? You can see & edit all 16 MIDI channels in a single MIDI clip in Bitwig and from what I can see in this 3 years old video it's the same - if not better - in Reaper:anomandaris1 wrote: Thu Feb 13, 2020 5:25 pmTry editing something you recorded. and exactly in what way it's better?antic604 wrote: Thu Feb 13, 2020 6:00 pmReally? Record in Bitwig, then in Reaper (or reverse). Then try to edit using the technique from this video and let's talk again. Imo, it's unusable unless you have too much time to spend nerding in the piano roll.
Tracktion and Bitwig are the best from these I tried (Cakewalk was bugged on my system and don't want to deal with Steinberg, so I didn't try Cubase)

What exactly is your complaint here? You're beating around the bush, instead of saying exactly what's wrong. Can't you just lasso around several notes (from several MIDI channels) and edit them together, i.e. transpose, shorten / lengthen, etc? What kind of editing you CAN'T do or it's very difficult (and easier in Bitwig)?anomandaris1 wrote: Thu Feb 13, 2020 6:09 pmRecord in Bitwig, then in Reaper (or reverse).
