I noticed the komplete audio ! has RCA outputs with 1 mic input and 1 instrument input, where the Komplete Audio 2 has stereo 1/4 inch outs with 2 x combi mic/inst inputs. I would get the Audio 2 for the extra connectivity, stereo inputs and so I could connect my monitors directly. Looks great for around £100

Actually I'd probably get the Audio 6 ... :hihi:

I've had an Audio Kontrol ! since 2007/8 ... it's still going strong, altho' the midi knob and buttons don't do anything anymore. Otherwise it's running fine on Win 8.1 but no longer supported by NI. I may have to upgrade if/when I go Win 10 :ud:

I have a Presonus Audiobox and it works fine, plus it has MIDI.

If you are on windows go for steinberg, best drivers in a budget.

As for sound quality: we are at a point that any digital to analog converter is more than good, the stuff we have today have specs that are more than enough to deliver excellent quality. The difference is in the Preamps for microphones, but it is more a case of different flavors than of good/bad.
