Had your sense of humour removed at birth, did you? And why does something have to be "special" to be worthwhile? I buy things that are useful and this is incredibly useful, in that it for every song I use it in, it saves me literally hours of faffing about. At my normal hourly rate it paid for itself the first day I had it.

Because there are many VST’s that does the same. Your ramblings about it seems to suggest that this is indeed something special.

Um... I actually kinda' want this now.
I'm a sucker for 80's drums. And listening to the demos (on good headphones) there's a fair thump out of those drums.

Definitely. I was surprised how well it works with some of our songs. When I downloaded the demo, I was curious more than interested but throwing it into one of our songs, replacing the existing drums, convinced me it's not just a giggle. And it's not about the 80s or anything, they work as a great alternative to dance style drums, like Eden provides.

Yeah even if I wasn't interested in the loops part of this plug in, the drum kits sound really good.BONES wrote: Wed May 06, 2020 1:06 am Definitely. Yes, you’re right. There are no drum machines VST with the classic sounds and tweakability. None.BONES wrote: Wed May 06, 2020 12:33 amSo many that you couldn't even name one. This is it mate. Plus I love using those 80s drums for heavier stuff as well (for that early industrial sound).BONES wrote: Wed May 06, 2020 1:06 am And it's not about the 80s or anything, they work as a great alternative to dance style drums, like Eden provides.

Right and how many include hundreds of preset patterns, a dozen different preset styles, plus macro controls for super-fast tweaking of the overall feel/sound? That's what sets these things apart, the ability to throw them into a project and have drums instantly. If anyone else is doing that, I'd be surprised if they are doing it as well as Ujam does.TheMaestro wrote: Wed May 06, 2020 10:05 pmYes, you’re right. The trade-off is that you lack the ultimate control to have whatever drums you want, which is why I'll always want to use Battery or Groove Agent when we are working on release material, but Eden and Vice are going to do all our live drums from now on because they sound great, use very little processing power and are a cinch to work into an existing arrangement. In older songs, they sound better than the bespoke drums we were using and I can get them in and finished in less than an hour most of the time. Even at full price, they are $69 well spent. I am going to download the Void trial this weekend and see if that might be something we can use as well, maybe for some distorted and mangled loops (it's the only one I don't have already).
