Which ones shall I pick?
I have the same question.

Post

I always come back to Ableton. Yes, it is a bit bland. But it does not distract you from your work and I came to really appreciate that.

Oh come on guys..

this is a trick question...
we all know the answer is ..

wait for it..

Reaper

Serious now...
I always loved the purity and simplicity.. the layout and workflow I got from Project5 v2..
and still use it on occasions just misses a proper mixer.

I was already wondering who that one Reaper guy or girl was. ;)

As a Reaper guy, Logic X is definitely my favourite looking, though can't speak to the usability of it (I'm a Windows guy). It has the Good Graphics™.

I actually think the Studio One 4 GUI is a really good balance in between Cubase and Logic.
More sober than Cubase, but not as sterile as Logic.

And it's more practical and accessible than both.

Reaper, to me, looks like it belongs on Windows XP, and Ableton Live, a '90s iMac.
THIS MUSIC HAS BEEN MIXED TO BE PLAYED LOUD SO TURN IT UP

Agreed on all counts. My two votes went to Studio One and Logic. I have to say, though, that I'm a little surprised that there are no votes for PT. I stopped using it a few years ago, but I've always really liked its GUI. Maybe it's just that very few of us hobbyists are using it anymore?
Logic Pro | LUNA Pro | OB-X8 | Prophet 6 | OB-6 | Trigon 6 | Rev2 | TEO-5 | Pro 3 | SE-1X | Minitaur | Integra-7 | TR-1000 | Analog RYTM mk2 | Digitakt 2 | TD-3 MO | TD-3 | Maschine+

If it's based on looks alone, then it would be Logic Pro X. However, my choice is Ableton Live 10, because it's simple, clean, streamlined, functional, flexible, consistent, fast and efficient. And beautiful too.

Live, for me, is kind of invisible. I've used it for soooo long now, I just don't "see it" anymore. It kinda gets out of the way and lets me make music. I think a lot of that is the simplicity and clean lines of the GUI, especially since the recent updates in v10.
