However it still doesn't have all the hardware components of a full oscillator, which is why it's quite limited.
Well there is no such thing as "full oscillator", it's DCO but instead of saw/tri shaper they've added wavefolder.
There's a (too technical for me) discussion about the second oscillator here. https://www.gearslutz.com/board/electro ... tos-2.html
From what you say it seems, that OSC 2 is - one could say - a half of the DCO - missing the sawtooth waveshaper part - just counter/clock output(s) fed into the mixer.

That's the problem.
It's not a big problem however, because even with 2X Unison you've got 6 voices, which is still quite acceptable for a $600 (12D) analog synth.
Take a single oscillator, producing a drone. Send it to the wave shaper, altering the tone.
This can be a triangle, Sawtooth or a square. Modulate the pulse width, nobody will care

Shame they have not come back with a mark 2 version of this synth.

If only it had 61 keys - and maybe some knobs along with the cool sliders to help cut the menu diving.

And full two oscillators with the second OSC with a saw wave -

I am sold if it comes in at sub $1000.

And any other goodies they care to throw in.

I want this synth to do master keyboard duties as well as play sounds and 49 keys is too short.

Hey, maybe I could buy two and have the second one a few octaves lower. :)

Set a dm12 keyboard or desktop on top of a good but affordable keyboard like a studiologic sl88 or sl73?

You could stack several desktop synths easy to reach/adjust on a shelf hovering a few inches above something like an sl88.
