Embertone's 1955 Walker lite. Great sounding piano.

If you don't use pianos to make your music, why would you want to spend hundreds of dollars on pianos?

Hey, if you've got money you want to throw away, you can send some to me. PM me for my Paypal address.

Keyscape is not without reason also used by EDM or trance musicians. Steve Helstrip ("The Trillseekers") for example uses it exclusively. These are very good pianos that sound excellent but without question not very cheap... for the money you can also buy Repro, Legend, Obession etc. ;)

Since a piano (IMO) is not necessarily one of the primary instruments at EDM, I would not consider a purchase in this high price segment at the first. Repro or the others ( analog emulations ) are in my opinion more important and shape the sound more.

I really like the Piano V included in the Arturia collection. Much more than the NI pianos.

I bought Keyscape recently and am pretty stoked about it, though I've only scratched the surface. The range of sounds beyond regular acoustic pianos is pretty phenomenal (clavs, electric pianos, bass keyboards, etc.) So if that's your thing, you'll be very happy with it.

I’m only tempted by Keyscape because I have Omnisphere, and you can mangle the Keyscape instruments through the rest of Omnisphere of you have both. So far I’ve always had other things that I wanted to buy more, but perhaps someday...

I will pick it up eventually if only to gain a load of extra sample sources for Omnisphere.

yeah but what is keyscape? just a hybrid instrument, layered pianos and EPs, heavily processed to sound great. you can do all that yourself, you dont need to pay $500 or whatever it is. and edm producers have been using pianos long before keyscape.

Yes, but if you want to record the pianos yourself, you'll probably be busy with it for a few months and will pay more for the studio rent alone than the whole Keyscape costs. Editing the samples and import/mapping in a sampler like Kontakt is also part of the job. For most people this is not an option and you pay the 300€ and you are happy.
If it has to be Keyscape is of course another question. There are some piano plugins and many of them are cheaper than Keyscape...
