This Monique thing is quite fun, makes a lot of noises (digital mostly). The GUI is a little too complex for my taste,
so that invites me to proceed randomly, anyone else got this feeling?
Time for me to make an "experimental" track, I guess.

Totally Agree on the GUI. Very convoluted affair. I find the distorting filters a bit of an acquired taste, too. Nice for percussion, though. And given the fact that is supposed to be a 'bass & lead synth' , the lack of pitchbend is beyond me. But it's supposed to be a challenge, isn't it ?
Can anyone confirm if the 'legato' knob associated with 'glide' doesn't do anything when playing ? According to manual it should work, but in Reaper it didn't.

I can't get it to work outwith the ARP, which I think is the way it should work.ELEX wrote: Tue Nov 03, 2020 9:57 am Can anyone confirm if the 'legato' knob associated with 'glide' doesn't do anything when playing ? According to manual it should work, but in Reaper it didn't.![]()
Also, has anyone noticed that there's a looper built into the FX section? I have no idea what I might use it for, but I assume it's legit if it's built into the synth?

Ooh, a native Linux version! And we recently had Surge for Linux too. An encouraging trend :-)

I think it's working in Bitwig 3.2.8ELEX wrote: Tue Nov 03, 2020 9:57 am

Thanks, guys ! Still doesn't do a %$#@ thing here. Pity, I much prefer legato-style glide.ELEX wrote: Tue Nov 03, 2020 9:57 am Can anyone confirm if the 'legato' knob associated with 'glide' doesn't do anything when playing ? According to manual it should work, but in Reaper it didn't.

edit: Ah...got misled by the GUI layout. Silly me !
re-edit: Not so silly after all. Seems to have been a midi mappings related bug. It now works !
Ah...that's what that knob is. Not at all sure how it fits in the rules, though. Not everything built-in is allowed when it comes to samplers. I suspect there will be a precedent for this, but I don't know what it is.opdobqo wrote: Tue Nov 03, 2020 10:10 am Also, has anyone noticed that there's a looper built into the FX section? it's probably fine - the only time sampling is not allowed is when you're sampling external material.
since this records the synth itself, you're free to use it, modulate it, automate it as you please.
Might be nice for a one instance track if you find such a thing appealing.

Its built in to the synth, so its fair game...

is anyone else having difficulty downloading it? I can't seem to get it down out of the shared Google Drive folder the link sent me to.

Possibly useful:
It seems midi mappings can only be changed by actually sending controllers. since otherwise no changes are made to C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\Monoplugs\Monique\patch.midi, which stores said mappings ; using the drop-down list only works temporarily ( previous mappings will be restored when reloading a project ). The file can be deleted ; a blank one will be created automatically.
Deleting it made the 'legato' button work as supposed too
, even though it wasn't mapped at all. Nice...

Accidental discovery: in the amp envelope section, click on the word "slope", and the label will change to "sivity". I can't find this word in the manual, but it appears to be velocity sensitivity.
When you click on an "o" to edit an envelope or LFO, does anyone know what the little yellow and green buttons labelled "aCL" and "aSW" are for?

I also couldn't download Monique for Windows separately, but I was able to download all the versions + some sequencer in one archive. Yes, it's 200 + MB, but apparently this is the only optiongorgorgathgorgorgor wrote: Tue Nov 03, 2020 11:04 pm is anyone else having difficulty downloading it?
