And still struggling with finding the cause of lag issue in their centercode.Gamma-UT wrote: Thu Nov 05, 2020 6:26 pmThey converted the graphics to Metal from OpenGL several months ago. They might be more ready than you think.andypryce wrote: Thu Nov 05, 2020 1:07 pm I don't think Ableton is working on or caring for ARM Macs at all. They are usually the latest to the party. Might see it supported in 2022 earliest.

Live and Reaper for sure are porting quickly.
I would guess Bitwig, Cubase and DP next.
Pro Tools, Mixbuss and Reason in last place.
Hard to say with FL Studio, ReNoise, and other odd ducks. FL might just have an advantage in that they just ported, so no odd legacy code, beyond any quick tricks they used.

History proves you completely wrong. Live made the transition from PPC to Intel right behind Logic, months before anyone else did. Same with OS 9 to OS X.andypryce wrote: Thu Nov 05, 2020 1:07 pm I don't think Ableton is working on or caring for ARM Macs at all. They are usually the latest to the party. IMO, Max/MSP really screwed up Lives stability, and it's taking more time and effort to maintain that pairing than anyone expected. M4L came in in v8.tooneba wrote: Fri Nov 06, 2020 12:04 amWhat about the history they took years to fix 8 and headquarter apologized to users?machinesworking wrote: Thu Nov 05, 2020 11:52 pm History proves you completely wrong. That said, Cycling 74 were a Mac OS only company for a long time, it's again very likely that Live ports to AS in a timely fashion IMO.

Hope so. It does not feel the same passionate Ableton from 15 years ago.machinesworking wrote: Thu Nov 05, 2020 11:52 pm

100% hear you on that. Live is great, but my passion for it waned after it was obvious that MPE was not a priority for them. I bought it originally because it's supposed to be a live performance oriented DAW, but it's more about WYSIWYG and intuitive workflow for IT people on their day off these days.andypryce wrote: Fri Nov 06, 2020 7:11 amHope so.
