Man, putting a nice reverb before this, turning the echo off and playing some synths is heaven. Oh, and I freaked out for a moment when I couldn't work out why the voices had started or how to stop them

Very different kinds

One was thought as a delay for music applications... much higher sound fidelity (for a vintage tape unit), 3 playback heads, with extensive control in the plugin version, like delay time and panning.

The other one was an audio recorder for actual information exchange (cold war espionage ), 4 hours of audio on a single tiny wire-reel, although pretty bad audio quality.
The plugin gives strong sound degradation of any incoming audio and you can use it as an echo/delay on top of that.


Anyway...
the plugin itself already cuts off a lot of high and low frequencies, although I noticed there's very little further loss between echoes in the feedback loop, like it happens with tape delays.
It stays unexpectedly "bright" (although it gets dirtier) on high feedback values giving long decays.
I'm brought to think this is how the wire recorder hardware unit behaved?

That's the 1st thing I touched, because I'm used to the J37 which stops the reels animation when you click on them. I always want it stopped so I clicked instinctively when I opened Wires.
The plugin started talking and it honestly cracked me up

Were wire recorders also capable of stereo recording? It's nice that Wires is stereo, but perhaps people would like a mono/stereo switch for more authenticity.
