All of our current plugins

SIR3

SpectrumAnalyzer

have been added with native support for Apple Silicon Macs and have been tested in Logic Pro on Apple M1 chip. We'll be keeping a close eye on the upcoming major DAW updates for VST. If necessary, new VST-configurations will be tested and updated as well.

I can confirm that a lot of the plugins listed in KVR's Products database that are tagged as Universal Binary 2, are not. Just checked DirtyFilter for example:

Code: Select all

DirtyFilter.vst / Contents / MacOS $ file DirtyFilter
DirtyFilter: Mach-O 64-bit bundle x86_64
Compare to FabFilter Pro Q3:

Code: Select all

 FabFilter Pro-Q 3.vst / Contents / MacOS $ file "FabFilter Pro-Q 3"
FabFilter Pro-Q 3: Mach-O universal binary with 2 architectures: [x86_64:Mach-O 64-bit bundle x86_64] [arm64]
FabFilter Pro-Q 3 (for architecture x86_64):	Mach-O 64-bit bundle x86_64
FabFilter Pro-Q 3 (for architecture arm64):	Mach-O 64-bit bundle arm64
I checked a few others as well and found the same thing. So unless the publisher website has a clear indication that they support Apple Silicon, I'm going to assume that their KVR entry is wrong until I learn otherwise.

We released quite a bit of Universal 2 Binary products this week:

Discovery Pro 7.1: https://www.discodsp.com/discoverypro/

Discovery 4.4: https://www.discodsp.com/discovery/

Discovery and Discovery got a ton of DSP SSE code converted to NEON and the performance is impressive on M1 chips.

Also OB-Xd now officially out with full Universal 2 Binary support too - https://www.discodsp.com/obxd/

OPL 2.0 fixed some GUI bugs. UB since 1.9: https://www.discodsp.com/opl/

How about native M1 support for hardware like audio interfaces and controllers. Can we add this to this thread?

Excellent suggestion.

The only manufacture as far as I'm aware that has native apple silicon drivers so far is RME https://forum.rme-audio.de/viewtopic.php?id=31781

This post is going to get really long fast, so I think it's better if hardware has it's own post. As I don't own any hardware that's not driverless (other than a KK S61 MK2), I'm probably not the best person to set that up.

Reason Studios claim Reason 11 being M1 compatible via Rosetta 2, while Reason 10 not - which I found not to be true, as I've been running 10.4.1 with some RE's without any issues

ED: Sorry, missed the point that it's a topic about native M1 support :dog:

"Compatible" in this case just means that they will support it in that configuration. No surprise that they will not support the previous version on a new platform, but that doesn't mean it won't work.

In any case, this topic is only for M1 native software.

Probably one of KVR's 'IT Pros'.

(I'm obvs not referring to plugin devs, I respect plugin devs, many of them make great products I can use on my Mac)
