I'm using an old Fireface800 with Windows 10. My Firewire card uses a Texas Instruments chipset and the default Firewire driver that windows 10 installed was buggy.
I tracked down the legacy firewire driver and now it's rock solid.

It's a newer driver than what you're using. Just try it. It's easy to roll back if it doesn't work.
