xray delta -- I don't care what you call me- I simply saw the post that someone couldn't sell his stuff 2ndhand and it enraged me !!! - I sold NI Vokator recently and NI couldn't give a damn - 'Yeah, that's OK' was the answer. They know the stuff they do gets cracked- but there are a enough out there that will buy the licences so they are not bothered if something is sold 2nd hand.

Yeah, no doubt fuckwit. I just read your CV in another thread. It just screams studio tea boy, hoping to make tape-op.

Can I leave a message to David Davies in this thread then?

You were always a a dour twat on look-northwest (good foil for Stuart Hall though). You've done a piss poor job at the FA. You are a bit of an arse.

xraydelta1 -you own GPO -you won't sell it- I probably won't sell it - but you MUST AGREE that you can sell it 2nd hand- OK some idiots might fake it - 'sell to someone else' but keep the stuff their machine - but that is no different from piracy and if someone was bloody determined they could probably get it off the web - but that guy did PAY for it in the first place - software vendors shouldn't punish legit buyers.

Nuffink YOu are a cool guy :D :D

Buying sample libraries is like renting a house to me. You have the right to stay there, but you don't own the place, and you certainly aren't allowed to sell it! The owner has a LOT more wrapped up in the house financially than you do, but he thought it be nice to let someone else use it for a fixed fee.

Not knowing who "somebody" is and what transpired, it is hard to know what you are writing about.

Devon is right about "Buying sample libraries is like renting a house... You have the right to stay there, but you don't own the place, and you certainly aren't allowed to sell it!"

In the GPO licensing agreement, it clearly states that the samples are licensed and that license is non-transferable without written consent. It does not totally preclude re-license on my part. I have allowed my Orchestral Strings libraries to be re-licensed and usually don't have a problem.

But the problem with GPO is that it is integrated with the Native Instruments Kontakt player. All registration and authorizations are done with Native Instruments. There's also Steinberg's Cubasis and Overture bundled. You'll have to check with them and if these companies allow it, we could probably work something out.

NI allow license transfers so I imagine that something can be worked out. In fact, the way that NI's registration works makes it really easy to transfer a license without the possibility the original owner using an unlicensed version.

Actually, not quite true. You can register for 2 computers, so 'technically' yes you could still use it.
