I guess the question a lot of us are thinking is "should I just get out of using this software now and sell it while there's still any kind of market for it?". In the case of NI it's tricky because I have loads of great Kontakt libraries and my current version is based on an upgrade of version 5 that I got with Komplete Ultimate 11. So, unless someone wants to swap Komplete 6 and some money on top for that I can't really sell it for a worthwhile price.

Yep, I hear you. I dropped adobe a few years back, and went over to Affinity Designer and I'm very happy I did.rj0 wrote: Wed Mar 10, 2021 3:04 am I used to purchase Adobe suites (CS) and upgrades (purchase to own) every few years. I tried their Creative Cloud (CC) subscription for 1 year when they first came out with it, concluded that I was paying way too much yearly for minor features and updates that I really wasn't putting to use (and that my existing CS packages provided all that I really needed), dropped the CC subscription, and never looked back.

Yeah! They've been very behind the times of late. Back in the day they were the ones to beat too.pixel85 wrote: Thu Mar 11, 2021 4:12 pm "(...) and Native Instrument's innovative offerings". Wait, what? What kind of innovation NI brought in recent years?

Which developer will be next in their portfolio?
Fxpansion, Applied Acoustics, U-He?
Would make sense, wouldn't it?

I'm pretty sure U-he (Urs) has mentioned an offer that was refused long ago. I'm hoping Urs and fam continues building out independently but I obviously have no insight.

Is there something like Adobe stock that links up with Affinity Designer?

Urs, if you're reading this, don't go that route. I buy your products not only because they're excellent plugins, but also because of the simple copy protection and the absence of corporate BS. Don't change, Urs. Please.elxsound wrote: Thu Mar 11, 2021 5:31 pm I'm pretty sure U-he (Urs) has mentioned an offer that was refused long ago. This. The future for me will include what is most consumer friendly as well as what sounds good to my ear. I will not be buying further products without hassle free copy protection and good license policy too. I have a feeling I will be spending more of my money with independent devs in the future as a result...crickey13 wrote: Thu Mar 11, 2021 5:49 pmUrs, if you're reading this, don't go that route. Except that they have stated that further features and improvements will only be available for subscribers. I contacted their consumer support and they clarified that they would update them for M1 and Big Sur and bug fixes, but it appears no new non-sub versions of software.
