There will not be a RMX2 at least not for me. I'm 67 (cough cough). Doctors tell me they don't think I'm gonna make it to RMX2. Go on without me.

I would love to see this updated, there is great potential for this to be amazing since its release in 2004.

Yup, almost 20 years...

(“Classic Stylus” was released in 2002)

Anyone interested in seeing this updated?

My guess is that they are doing a replacement that is much more than loops. They are very good at sampling, and I'd bet they are putting together a multi-sampled drum instrument, but they will be deeply editable, and individual drums able to be switched out etc., with a huge loop library probably both of the kits as well as other loops.

It's hard to imagine Spectrasonics completely ignored customer requests for RMX2 but if they wanted to do it, it wouldn't take 20 years even with a ton features. I think they just decided to go in a different direction.

Whatever it will be called, it will be a totally different animal and it will be a beast.

I don't know if I'll be alive to see it, mind. Several years ago they said they had one product that was at that time, IIRC, 17 years in development. They work on geological timescales, not retail ones.

Just heard a lot of the loops and a lot of it is heavily processed and cheesy. Not sure how id personally take advantage of it. That said I can't think of any percussive vst like this one so a v2 would be neat.
Furnace, Renoise, Cubase, Reaper :tu:

I'm using a loop from it in a track I'm finishing right now. I use RMX as rhythmic filler mostly. I use edit mode to separate elements to their own channels and process some of the over processing out of it or add my own modifying. It's like an old car. I part out the stuff that works for me.
Just have to be creative.

I would love to see a plugin that would allow for programmable drums OVER loops (or separate), the ability to sample your own drums AND import samples. Some nice tape and saturation Fx.
More complex loop slicing with the ability to reverse individual slices and process slices with different FX.

Separate outputs that allows routing for loops, drum programming, individual drums, Fx and slices.....

Also the ability to load Omnisphere sounds (that could be looped or edited) would be awesome.

If anyone could do this, its Spectrsonics.... :tu:

I imported many Akai CD loops (SAGE tool) and also loops in recycle format. So u have the choice. :phones:

That's been their catchphrase for years. And I'm sure they haven't, but I don't want "He hadn't forgotten about rhythm" on Eric's tombstone in 50 years time.

Yeah, when you get old enough you don't remember what you forgot. Wait, what?

Stylus RMX has now been put into the “Legacy” product category on Spectrasonics’ website now.

Maybe they’re trying to forget about rhythm? :hihi:

Interesting.
Or Maybe something will be announced at NAMM.
