Yes, force and MPC can export ALS and now be opened in Bitwig :tu:
I'm curious to hear how well that works!
I will give it a go tonight, I have an MPC Live II in my studio - I cant think of any reason why it wont work, it exports ALS and Bitwig imports ALS...

X32 and 24C mixers, S88MK3, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6, Pro3, S4, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone, OP1-F, OPXY, TR-1000, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

Look forward to hearing your results!

It works okay most of the times, thought I've noticed that it's having trouble with Ableton Live 11 projects at the moment. Not sure what's going on there.

One thing it does that Biwig doesn't currently do is that if you have Drum Racks setup it tries to map those to the Drum Program in Force. The same with sampled instruments. There are limitations like the Force only allows 8 audio tracks so you have to make sure you only have that many audio tracks in the project you can have as many audio clips as memory allows though.

I haven't done extensive testing on it though. I usually export out not into the Force.

Doesn't work on my end. BW says you need an ALS project for Ableton 8.1 and newer. I guess Akai may be saving to an older format?

Tried it on both MPC and Force. Same thing.

I can confirm this, I reported it to both BWS and Akai.

This one is probably more likely on Akai's end as I can open ALS files from Ableton just fine but who knows.

1 out of 10 so far for me. I've only had one project load out of multiple tries :/

I mostly get a 'loading plugins' indicator and spinning 'loading' images over the items.

Nothing loads / Everything has automation

Waaaaaaaaaay back in the day LMMS could import FLP. That back in FLS 9 I think... and LMMS has since dropped the feature

It seems a b**ch of a feature to maintain. As you'd have to play catch up every time Ableton updates Live and potentially makes changes to the project file format.

Fishing to get ALS and FLS users to try Bitwig no doubt. You’re correct, but it might be worth it if they gain customers. Depends on how they like Bitwig once they try it. I’m assuming the feature will work in the demo of course.
