I only have to change the batteries once in a great while. It's not something you have to do every day and not having to deal with the wire makes it more than worth it for me.

I don't think the purpose is to free up a USB port but to free you from having to drag the mouse tail around.

But having said all that I do use a wired mouse for gaming.

At the time for some reason I felt the trackpad on my MBP wasn't cutting it, I don't feel that way today at all. i don't recall if it was an old like 2010 machine or my 2018 MBP but I imagine it'll have been the former being less responsive. I have not developed trust in bluetooth/wireless to this day, which can be just me.
the high end logitech MX stuff is dual interface - you can use their 'unifying' 2.4ghz dongle with them - but you can also use direct bluetooth to the mac/pc.

I've used the mx master mouse and mx mobile mouse plus the mx ergo trackball direct to macs via b/t - works great

mx ergo is one of those polarising things - you either love trackballs (I do - having used them since the 80s) but some people hate them

"defeating the purpose."
"I don't think the purpose is to free up a USB port"

No shit, Sherlock, the point of wireless is no wires. It seems like I mentioned a trackpad on a MBP, which stands for MacBook Pro where taking up a USB port is significant. Having to insert a USB dongle utterly defeated the purpose of buying that technology (sorry, didn't mention the fact it didn't so much as work). It was advertised as a Bluetooth mouse, USB was not in the ad copy.

this was probably the low end :D

I no longer desire the thing.

I bought this one to replace my Ankor mouse I had... I've had few wireless ones which have either constantly fell on the floor, didn't work when I bought one, or simply got fed up with them needing to be recharged.

It's a really nice mouse and good value I think. (It's wired btw) (For the PC platform)

I bought G603 mouse two years ago (I think). I liked a lot because of the design and comfortable use. That positive feeling only lasted for about one month as the scrolling wheel began to be really messy and unusable! After searching here and there, it appeared a common problem. Support was useless and I sweared no Logitech mouse after that.
I bought then Razer DeathAdder mouse which is wired, but a great mouse I use it now as well with a wired Logitech mechanical keyboard.

I thought to buy apple keyboard and mouse because I like the build quality and the elegance but I found it not comfortable to switch my keyboards and mice every time I run my PC then the MacBook air, so I bought a Switch instead and stayed with my Razer/Logitech combo 😀
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

You didn't mention "it was advertised as a Bluetooth mouse, USB was not in the ad copy". Perhaps a little more research on your part before purchasing the mouse would have saved you such headaches.

I also don't own a Mac Book Pro so wouldn't know or care if "taking up a USB port is significant". Perhaps a little more research on your part before buying the computer would have saved you such headaches.

On the subject of mice it sucks to be left handed..... :hihi:

I've just gotten so comfortable using right hand mice that I've never bothered trying a left hand mouse but they are available usually at a higher price and I guess that's understandable since only about 10% of the population is left handed.

d000d, I really think you could well eschew insulting a person's intelligence AND impugning one's integrity talking about trivial shite

how absolutely stupid. do more research my ass, I knew how many f**king ports the things have and it was a trivial purchase anyway. muted, what a little dick move.

Hey I'm not the one who is using foul language. You should really try to be less aggressive and so easily triggered. But you've muted me and I'll do you the same favor. I'm sure both our lives will be much better for it..... :tu:

doesn't matter if it's me or whomever, that is not called for.
And buy a sense of humor FFS, 'no shit sherlock' ya could take in stride.
it defeated the purpose of a supposed convenvience by not being convenient, genius, before we get to little niggly nitpicks to argue pointlessly.
I def didn't come in here with any need to engage at this level, and this being behind a couple of trivial, and even self-effacing remarks about a peripheral which cost like 10 bucks is too much for me to bite my tongue today.
Pro Tip: muted means I have zero interest in your comeback. Knock yourself out.

"It seems like I mentioned a trackpad on a MBP, which stands for MacBook Pro where taking up a USB port is significant"
This statement in no way indicates that I bought something not knowing what it was. This is you being a dick to no actual point. Why am I on the defensive? it's subjective, USB defeated the purpose for me.

A meaningless account of a stupid buy and this is your shot at throwing shade, and then it's time to LITIGATE it.
GFY.

And yet, I've been bitten several times before by this issue, both at work and at home. So, I avoid "battery operated" wherever there's a wired option available for petty much anything.
I started on Logic 5 with a PowerBook G4 550Mhz. I now have a MacBook Air M1 and it's ~165x faster! So, why is my music not proportionally better? :(

I've been using Logi M705 for about 3 years and it's about time to re-tire or buy a new one (reason : a bit worn-out). Love this mouse as it fits my hand and very precise in terms of movement. Especially when I study the user guide the scroll wheel rocks! And 2 x batt. can last for > 12-13 months depending on your usage. Even if you plug one battery still can work.

I also tried those cheap Logi combo Keyboard and mouse. Ergonomic is poor and too light to use.

cowby wrote: Mon May 31, 2021 9:51 am Hi, as my subject said...

My definition of High quality wireless mouse is something like logitech mx master 3 and Microsoft Precision mouse. Any benefit to use these kind of mouse when using DAW? e.g Selection and point and draw some notes in piano roll ? Will it also help on turning knobs/sliders in a more precision fashion on a VST synths?

Regards!

They won't necessary help you draw notes better or turns knobs better. They will help with ergonomics, be more comfortable to use for a long time. If you spend a lot of time on your computer, yes it is worth spending the money on something high end. Problem is finding that mouse that fits you the best. I've tried dozens of mice over the years. I tend toward gaming mice in recent years as there is a race to make them ergonomic and light. Currently I use a Logitech G Pro mouse which probably the best mouse I've ever used. I had an earlier version of the Logitech MX, and I liked it and the hyper scroll was awesome, but also I kind of found it awkward the way it's designed. Like the whole thumb cradle is really unneeded in my opinion. Also the MX line is a heavy mouse. The MX Master 3 is 141 grams, vs 80 grams for something like a G Pro wireless. Although this doesn't sound like a lot over the years of long computer sessions it really does add up and if you use the two mice side by side you will really notice the weight.
