Poll : Would KVR benefit from a video tools forum?

Are we talking about adding another "Main Forum" topic for Video?
I'm asking because some of the discussion seems to be about specifics that could easily fit as sub-level topics under Video.
Even though I don't work with video as much (more like anymore sadly), I would definitely appreciate seeing a dedicated main forum topic for these things to be discussed. There's often quite a bit of off-topic discussion with video editing software in addition to everything already mentioned that could be helpful in a dedicated space.

An idiot on Set Theory:
"In some cases there is an object called red that contains everything that is red. In much the same way a pot is a plate."

I’m not opposed to it and it could possibly be beneficial, but video topics seem infrequent enough to me that I think it works to just post them under one of the existing forums (e.g., Production Techniques, Hosts, Getting Started). As a pro photographer who also dabbles in videography (usually making simple videos of fashion models set to music), I do like the idea, but I’m really not clear on how much expertise we have here at KVR to make it beneficial. Would it mostly just be hacks like myself trying to help newbs? If so, that doesn’t seem to be worthy of a dedicated forum. But, if we have enough experts here (or can attract them) to make it worthwhile, yeah, I’m all for it.

Sometimes the benefit is not having to repeat things, although considering how many "what's the best reverb" threads exist I'm not placing bets that there won't still be repetition.cryophonik wrote: Mon Jul 12, 2021 3:06 pm I’m not opposed to it and it could possibly be beneficial, but video topics seem infrequent enough to me that I think it works to just post them under one of the existing forums (e.g., Production Techniques, Hosts, Getting Started). One frequent topic that comes up are DAWs that handle video and I'm sure those of that have worked with this know this can mean different things. I think this topic alone would be helpful to keep in a dedicated forum.
There's some other stuff with modular/performance/DIY stuff that has come up that I think would also benefit just from not being buried among the other topics. Even if they don't gain as much attention it could be nice.
I look at it like the Guitars sub-topic. It's not the most popular one here, but it's nice to have a dedicated subtopic for it.

It's still sitting in my Lego cart.
I got the missus both Friends sets (she's a big fan), but can't find a home for them yet.

Regardless, I am for the idea because upping my video production game is something I've been contemplating for a long time.

No worries! Just writing conversationally so never worry. KVR is full of experienced, talented, and knowledgeable people in every category of music subforum available, so it's clearly a good resource to get reliable information and have informative discussions about everything from soft synths and effects to DAWs to hardware to guitars and theremins. Personally, I think a Mastering subforum would be more in line with KVR's music production roots and I know that there are many very experienced mastering engineers here. It's just not clear to me exactly how many people here could actually make a video subforum any more informative than a Facebook post would.
