Bollocks.

Sarcasm is great :D

If you have an unscratchable itch like requiring a resampling, it's best if you bin the offending gear you are using & consider implimenting a more sophisticated instrumnent into your workflow to gain better results the first time around. I have worked several years pefecting this device & it's featured on Spear's hot new Single, "Blow me.."

Here's my revolutionary new instrument:

You should in any case stay around here, there's a good mixture of people IMO.
Sure, you'll get smart ass comments and jokes even when you don't wnat them, but you can get lots of information too.
There are 3 kinds of people:
Those who can do maths and those who can't.

Or you could go to the cubase forums and get flamed instead.

And deal with that Dave Nicholson idiot, which is way harder than being flamed to death.

I have to say that I have never ever received any information from the bunch of twats that hang round here. I too refuse to provide any useful information on any day with the letter Y in it's name. That's not the point of KvR is it?

I thought resampling was to do with the amount of pixels in an image. Does this mean if I press the resample button in Cubarse then Photostrop will load up and start telling me to increase the size of my scratch disk - so then I'll go off looking for some vinyl and my old turntable out of the cupboard, by which time I'll have forgotten what I was trying f**king resample in the first place ???

Mine's a Stella. Cheers !

Resampling....that's when the chocolate you just took a piece from is so damn good that you just have to go back and resample it to make sure it is really as good as you first thought it was before you gobble the whole lot? Innit?

Failing that - resampling is generally a waste of time nowadays. If you want to resample at lower bandwidth, you could more easily use Eq plugins or some sort of sound degrader to better effect.
Originally it was in the days when there wasn't much memory in h/w samplers; so you might need to resample at half the original rate to save memory. You'd do it with something like toms or kicks. If you recorded everything at top bandwidth you use more memory - but kicks don't have much in the high frequency range, or even mids sometimes...so you resample at half bandwidth, chop off everything above 10KHz and still have a passable kick at half the memory. My old AkaiS950 required me to do this often - only 2.25MB memory with expansion fitted! :-o
So it didn't take a very big drumkit to use all of the RAM. And sometimes you'd do it for effect anyway. A drumloop can sit in a mix far better occasionally if it's at poorer quality - get rid of all the highs and it sounds suitably "retro".
