Once opened up, you should see whether it's burnt or not.
Still cheaper than writing off and replacing the whole synth, right?

Sounds more like a bad solder joint that makes no contact once the unit is warmed up.

No idea if the topic starter ever solved the problem with his device. Though it would have been nice if he had posted the solution, so others could have found usefull info!
Anyway, I remember I had a similair issue. It turned out to be a stuck hold/sustain button on the keyboard!
In other words, loads of MIDI note info got stashed in the Blofeld memory until the device reached it's limit and choked. Depending of the amount of played notes it can take up to 1 to 5 minutes.
