That is why, in practice, the answer is no...kritikon wrote: Mon Aug 30, 2021 12:04 am Yes, one can probably do it all.
However, with almost every synth I ever owned (s/w and h/w) at some point I've made a whole track with just the one synth - and I've never liked any of them. They just sound too samey. I even did it with various old school h/w samplers. I dunno why I do it TBH, because the result is always the same![]()
can one synth really do it all ?

Almost everything ( with no distinction between control rate and audio s.r.rate for h.q.modulation, if you wish to do so )
- reaktor
-tranzistow
Everything
-Supercollider ( still learning ,but verry rewarding )

Not only one synth, but multiple one wave (Sin) can do it all
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

There are a few synths that cover a lot of ground, but why would you rely on one sound source anyway ?
There's a few good reasons why an orchestra is made up of different instruments that produce different sounds and timbres...
When you combine them in various ways, you have arranging 101...
In the brave new world of synthesis,Zebra 2,SynthMaster 2 and Vital, along with a few others, are capable of creating vast amounts of textures and colours...
We are so spoilt for choices these days

one synth can do it all ...
unfortunately , only one instance of the .dll exists ...
you want ' the precious ' vst ...

Where is it? They stole it from us. My precious. Curse them, we hates them! It’s ours, it is, and we wants it!”

Naw. Even if it does every possible thing on a specs sheet it can't create every single type of tone. I want lots of different tones at my disposal.

The one that can do all is called C++. The UI is unbearable, that is why a lot of people create user interfaces for it with the result that those cannot do all, but in exchange they are usable and some even inspiring…

What does the OP want to do exactly ?
I guess as its KVR it can only mean EDM. Everything here seems to default to that genre. That being the case, and it is EDM, then why do you need more than one synth for it ?

One Synth to rule them all. Since it was known that the dark lord would have too much power, the one synth was split into several synthesis methods and hidden in multiple instruments, because no mortal can handle the power of a single synth.

I bet Halion can do all, but I can‘t handle that technocratic monster.
