Sensible question requesting a sensible answer ...
Bones, how come every time you type the word "Orion" in your posts you type it in bold? It's as if you're marketing the product.
ta, deps.

Always entertaining to see someone who regularly demonstrates the imaginative capabilities of a crowbar remonstrate other people for being stupid.
Especially since you appear to have spent two years endlessly reconstructing the same tracks with different instruments to produce your album. That doesnt really fit the facts of that 'in record time' claim, does it?
Your self-congratulation over how clever you consider your approach to be kind of misses the fact that you seem to have taken an inordinate amount of time to actually create satisfactorily finished work. In fact your choice seems a hindrance to that.
If you're happy with your sparse-and-stripped-down setup, then more power to you. But I see no evidence at all that it provides you with any creative, musical, or workflow advantage whatsoever over anyone else here.
And that's where your the one actively demonstrating stupidity.

Usually I type all product, user and band names in bold. At the moment I am using dial-up, which is infuriatingly slow, so I might be a little less careful than usual.deps wrote:Bones, how come every time you type the word "Orion" in your posts you type it in bold? That was 18 months ago and the next one could have been ready 6 months ago if we had been allowed to release it then. OTOH, the two before that were 1995 and 1989 so I think that things have accellerated considerably.whyterabbit the fucknuckle wrote:Especially since you appear to have spent two years endlessly reconstructing the same tracks with different instruments to produce your album. Well pardon me for being happy. As for inordinate, see above. Me neither. Just an observation. Naturally I would think anyone who doesn't agree with me to be an idoit and/or stupid. Pricks, fucksticks, dipshits - that's just embellishment. But I see no evidence at all that it provides you with any creative, musical, or workflow advantage whatsoever over anyone else here.

Not exactly. On a good week I can get by without having to talk to anyone but good weeks are so rare. The guy at the internet cafe always wants to strike up a conversation, students keep turning up for labs and then I have to deal with clients. Truly, its never-ending. If it wasn't for technology, I would have been gone years ago.vurt wrote:you must lead a very sad and lonely existence being so perfik n all.

BONES quoth
That was 18 months ago
But it was still Orion, and your favourite toys.
and the next one could have been ready 6 months ago if we had been allowed to release it then.
So its taken, what a year or so? Not exactly any sign of a blistering pace facilitated by your setup, then is it?
OTOH, the two before that were 1995 and 1989 so I think that things have accellerated considerably.
Woot. Still no evidence that your choices somehow mark you out as 'cleverer' in any way, though.
I guess in this context we'll just have to take it as read that in your vocabulary 'stupid' actually means 'I dont have the imagination to work out why someone would do that'.
Well pardon me for being happy.
No. You dont seem to be able to manage it for anyone else, so why the f**k should we bother for you?
As for inordinate, see above. Please enlighten us all, oh great one, as to how my choice may have been a hindrance?
Ummm, considering how often you tell us you're really happy with your tools, havent you spent an awful lot of time replacing stuff wholesale?
Not exactly proof of how good those tools were.
Me neither. Just an observation.
How wonderful. I guess your so proud of that 'observation' you just have to go right on making it time after time. How clever that must make you feel.
Naturally I would think anyone who doesn't agree with me to be an idoit and/or stupid.
Well, amazingly most metrics of intelligence don't really involve conformance of opinions. So you'll forgive me for thinking that its actually an indicator of how dumb you are that you think that, and keep repeating it like some kind of retarded mantra.
Pricks, fucksticks, dipshits - that's just embellishment.
Pretty unimaginative ones at that.
