It happens and has happened quite often.OzoneJunkie wrote: Fri Oct 01, 2021 3:36 pmHink - you would know better than I would if devs weren't allowed to post their new products - so I was essentially asking if that was true or not. If solo devs, including first-time-posters are allowed, then clearly I am wrong across the board. I believe that's what you're saying - so, yes, I'm sorry I jumped to conclusions and sorry for my posts.Hink wrote: Fri Oct 01, 2021 3:29 pmDo you really expect a response to that...you want to make a comparison between a solo developer and Antares? Do you know of any solo developers that were not allowed to post their new product as you say? (FTR I honestly dont know of any) Keep in mind we also have the developer challenge here.OzoneJunkie wrote: Fri Oct 01, 2021 3:20 pmI saw the new forum, and so I recognize that the new user is a moderator. My point is: would a new user, a solo developer (who didn't have a unique forum in KVR), be able to create such a forum post? If the answer is yes, then I concede whole-heartedly, and my deepest apologies to Antares and the mods/admins here.Hink wrote: Fri Oct 01, 2021 3:09 pmperhaps you should have just looked at the support forums we have here...because than you would see how wrong you are. Moderator should be your first clue...Obviously this new account here is part of Antares support, and look there is a new support forum forum Antares...hmmmOzoneJunkie wrote: Fri Oct 01, 2021 11:03 amExcept that as a first and second post by a new user, it goes against the forum rules to some degree. Other than that, I don't disagree.beely wrote: Fri Oct 01, 2021 10:50 am
Well, it's basically a press release, posted by the dev
No different from, say, this one:
viewtopic.php?f=6&t=571262
...which got no criticism at all for being an "ad".
Clearly the forum rules get bent when it's someone paying the bills.
Plus, I can't add the OP as a foe (so I can ignore their posts) because THAT is not allowed when the poster is a "moderator' or whatever they consider this type of account.
But, at the end of the day, this site isn't a forum with ads, it's a big ad site that also has forums. It's a business first.
Anyway, I'll go about my day. Nothing will be won here.
Your accusations demand an apology to KvR admin (not mods, Ben), in your scenario we would give someone a support forum but not allow them to advertise their product like everyone else? No, you were just wrong and quick to only see it from the negative side.
Perhaps we should stop jumping to conclusions...![]()
If the answer is no, then my point still stands - that there is special consideration to paying 'clients' that a person/company who cannot afford to pay doesn't get. Which, if that's the case, that's still fine - it's not my site to regulate/govern, despite what I might think of things and what's fair. So, either way, my apologies.

Thanks for straightening things out. Sorry to take up your time.
This post obviously is a bit over the top for this community but in line with their brand. I'm guessing that what sticks out the most compared to others.
