the first music store I worked in 98 was a mom and pop chain around Boston, we had a generic phone line to an ad in the paper saying we bought used music gear (our greeting was just "hello", we didnt want them to knwo we were a store)...my store was the focal point for this and the guyI worked with (who use to rent rehearsal space to Boston, the Cars and Asmith) would go out and pick stuff up.

On day I am in the store, a customer was looking at a used Guild we had, it had a unique blemish on the headstock. He asked where we got it and I had no clue, he then told me it was his and I got nervous. He then said, it was stolen but not what I think. He explained about his crazy ex, how he left with what he could grab and then he dropped 1k on it and bought it again. Then he said, "I also had a James Burton Tele if you come across it", I didn't have the heart to tell him I sold it the day before
