Thanks, guys!
Regarding the pitch, we would rather add different pitched gongs in an expanded version. Pitch switches are more like extreme effects, where the loss of tone is compensated by a gain in vibe.

We spent an incredible amount of time on just that feature to make it sound like the real thing :)

Honestly no, you really can't. Convolution is just one of the ingredients of the sound.
This is a player's instrument, we made it rather dynamic - check how howl behaves or how the chains react to the input.
If you want an expert opinion, Peter Kirn wrote about it here: https://cdm.link/2021/12/gong-amp-simul ... -hands-on/
Before you say “couldn’t I just use convolution and a cymbal sample,” the effect is convincing and organic in a way that convolution alone can’t reproduce. The first time I switched it on, I just about did a double-take – it’s that realistic.

At low wetness it’s kind of useful as a saturator plus something to remove purity from digital tones

I love the direction that AudioThing has been going in recently.

It would be wonderful to see some more typical yet rare cab emulations - such as the type advertised by Dr. Bonkers. A collaboration between AudioThing and Dr. Bonkers to develop a plugin which feels like a real cab would be a no-brainer - especially if it can be pushed beyond realistic levels of appropriate parameters.

I mean, you're both inspired by lab work. It has to happen! :hyper:

I misread the thread title as “Audiothing Going Amp” and wondered what that was supposed to mean… :dog:
Well, better than “Dong Amp”…

Attenuator? More like a Sevenuator and that’s on a good day.

I've also seen Hainbach mentioning that possibility in the YT comment section.
If you do, please consider adding the ability to adjust the intensity of the chains to a desired amount with a fader/knob instead of just being on/off

Yes, that's definitely something that would be a nice addition.

Any possibility you'll do more of the Ondes Martenot style resonators?
