Old NI - Interfaces are actually pretty solid, if your Machine still runs those.
Other than that, I have heard good Things about Audient.

I have an Audient EVO 8 and, honestly, I'd hesitate to recommend it. Mine initialises with random buffer settings, completely ignoring the settings I have made. It's very annoying and when I contacted Audient about it, I never received a response. They did update the firmware and drivers a few weeks later but that was a hugely frustrating experience and I still don't know if I have the latest firmware or not - the firmware version number isn't the latest but it insists that it is up to date - and the other problem hasn't been fixed.

Ok, thats good to know and like I said, never used them. Yet, I didnt mean the EVO - but the iD - Line; which are supposed to have pretty decent Drivers and very good Converters. Maybe someone can can confirm this (or not) as thats just what I have read on the net.

Why?
Apart from the odd "Reinstall me or I won't work anymore" after the half yearly WIndows 10 updates, which was fixed in a more current driver version, I don't have any issues with them. I have a UR22 mk2, and I had a UR12.

Don't you just love it when someone starts a thread asking for help and, after a week of helpful replies, the OP doesn't even bother to respond?

The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

Just about exactly a week, I think: as my comment history may indicate, I am on KVR just about every Wednesday late night, as that is the time during the week I can squeeze it into my schedulecryophonik wrote: Wed Jan 12, 2022 4:27 pm Don't you just love it when someone starts a thread asking for help and, after a week of helpful replies, the OP doesn't even bother to respond?![]()
Seriously, though, thank you everyone for your helpful replies! A lot of interesting options I hadn't thought of. Looking at the MOTU interfaces with interest. Zoom one might also be promising, I've used their field recorders for many years and they have performed decently. The mixer-style ones I don't think will fit into the cramped corner of my desk devoted to music production, with the possible exception of the AG03, which I have to say looks pretty slick. I'll try a couple of other troubleshooting steps I thought of in the interim with the Scarlett, but if that doesn't work it looks like there are some decent options to look into.

Really? Because I have an AG06 and a UR44C and both are absolutely bulletproof. They use the same Yamaha/Steinberg driver, I've never seen a specific UR driver.

I have a Scarlett 4i4 fixed for "desktop use" and a 2i2 for when I need to record stuff on the go and I can't praise them enough. Solid as solid can get...

It's worth noting that when it comes to drivers for Windows, many manufacturer have decided to outsource to Thesycon, whom rebrand their generic ASIO implementation.
