DAW related: here's a conference talk where Julian Storer (Traktion & Juce) talks about refactoring zlib - an extremely complicated open source library that performs zip compression. As a programmer I find it fascinating, the general public will fall asleep.


I think what you have in mind is something akin this Ars Technica - War Stories episode about the making of Prince of Persia. There's some drama there to be told indeed. There should be a book printed about it by now.
