That's why it's free, you can't f* download it and before you know it the offer will expire. "rock and roll scientists" as they say

Just login and claim the license if you can. Once the license is in your account, you can download it in three months if you want, no need to worry about the offer expiring...Bulbizarre wrote: Tue Jan 25, 2022 8:44 pm That's why it's free, you can't f* download it and before you know it the offer will expire. I'm sure the site will settle down in a day or two anyway...

Finally got it downloaded and installed.
It sounds really nice, but... it's a bit of a cpu hog.
Ran a comparison in Studio One, on a decent PC setup (i7-8700, 64gb ram):
%'s over Midi Instrument Playing (baseline 3%)
All tape emulators are dialed in with similar (medium(ish)) settings):
J37: 6%
Dirty Tape: 5%
MixBox/Tape Cassette: 4%
Tape MELLO-FI: 1%
Reels: 1%
Was hoping it would clock in around the 1% mark... as it would have offered (yet) another option to my 'dIstReSS evErY F**kINg ChANnEl' fetish.
In case your wondering what that sounds like:

Hope it's better than their Saturation Knob. TBH that put me off trying Softube ever again - gave me a very bad first impression of them. Had to go through all the hassle of iLok just for a crap freebie that when set at zero gives you a loudness boost of 1.5dB, making it a bloody difficult thing to use anywhere and even A/B compare with anything. That would be a nightmare for any mixing IMO. Dubious at the very least. It smacked to me of trying to fool users by making it louder. Shame cos I've heard good things about some of the other Softube stuff, but that knob is dodgy in the extreme.

Tape machines don't have a mix control...; - ) Your DAW should be able to deliver one if you insist on it...

They only make that sound if the tape gets sticky after 30 years in the cave… But then you would need a bake control to create those half baked sounds…
