It's been bugging me since yesterday :hihi:
This number is Epoch time and converts to Thu Feb 24 2022 19:00:00 GMT+0000 - the very date they show at the end.
Wow. Thank you.
I didn't even know what Epoch time was :o

Now the mystery is why they would write the date like that, when it's also clearly showed at the end of the teaser :hihi:
The "crypted" messages they used in previous teasers were generally related to the specific synthesizer model to be revealed.

Anyway, thank you :)
it's the little known "epoch 7" vintage analog synthesiser.

Some further synth-related thoughts on the teaser...

"Something wonderful is about to happen". This quote is actually from "2010: The Year we make contact" (it might also be in the book, I'm unable to recall fully)... Which was originally to be scored by Tony Banks, but his material was rejected in favour of a soundtrack by David Shire using a Synclavier and Yamaha DX1.

The 2001 monolith: In the novel, TMA-1 points it's broadcast at Saturn's moon 'Iapetus' (Saturn-8, Rendered as the alternative modern form 'Japetus' in the novel) and the location of the second, larger monolith TMA-2. Iapetus has surface features named after the french epic poem 'The song of Roland'. In the movie the locale of TMA-2 and thus where TMA-1 points is changed to Jupiter, it is not explicitly stated where TMA-1 points at, but if it were to remain the '8th classical moon' then it should be Jupiter-8.

Neither of these, to me, points to a Synclavier, DX1 or Jupiter-8 emulation release next week, although I do expect CA to release a Jupiter-8 emulation at some point (perhaps called Saturn-8). But they were points about the teaser that sprung to mind.

Maybe MKS80? (Jupiter 6/8 - sort of - in a rack…)

These were the first of Roland’s rack synth modules, along with the MKS30 and some others…

Hence the Jupiter theme, and the “dawn of rack” thing…

if true, nicely done! :tu:

Since we're all guessing here, I will add my guess to the mix too.

My guess is that it's a Moog Modular, because of the whole "dawn of rack" thing.

The new number of posts before the hate starts is now five..repeat, five..that is all.

I'm not sure what that has to do with "dawn of rack" though?

Moog Modulars were cabinets, and if you'd ever tried to squeeze one in a rack, you'd realise that that just ain't happening... ;)

Dawn of modular synths, maybe. Dawn of "wall of synths" maybe, but rack makes no sense in that context, to me at least...

I'm not sure what they mean by dawn of rack.

When I first saw it, I thought to myself, surely they don't mean rack like my Roland D-110 rackmount module that I used to own.

I could be wrong of course.

That'd be Pasiphae, then.

This is some really cool detail. I wasn't aware of the MKS80 at all (shame on me). Maybe that'd yield a name like Super Saturn.

I don't think it will be any of these, though, just because Cherry doesn't usually go that far with the, uh, lore. My bet is a JP-8080 emulation.
I hate signatures too.

I don't have anything against Cherry Audio, and, I wish them success and all the best. But, I'm really not sure about their business model... let's leave it at that. Carry on.
