Long time Reason user here and I love that are being forth right with development plans. I also think working on VST3 needs to be a top priority as lots of new plugins are being released in that format only. I read the interview last week with the CEO posted above and they seem to really focused on the Reason software itself and making it best software they can. I'm encouraged by these recent press releases and hope they keep this open line of communication with its users.

And as you know Reason works well with Rosetta on M1 Mac computers
No it doesn't. The RRP doesn't work well in any host running natively at all. So many others do using the Rosetta bridge. Reason isn't one of them.
Out of all the DAWs I've used throughout the M1 transition, with or without Rosetta, Reason has easily been the weakest and still is. The only saving grace has been M1's strong single core performance and for some users this might be enough to run their projects without any major issues. I think this is why opinions are so divided on this. Not everyone pushes Reason very hard, especially those using primarily internal devices.

That's a pretty fantastic interview. It's good to hear they've ditched the window dressing stuff that had been a distraction (mobile apps, hardware like Balance) and are solely focused on Reason now.

As a dumbo when it comes to routing cables,Reason 12 leaves me lost and hopeless.
I can't even work out how to route a loop into the mixing desk lol.

I wanted to try the sp 1200 combinmator patch that Ryan fromReason made so i added that to a session, then I found a drum loop.
When I hit tab ,I don't know where you put the cables to get the sp1200 patch to work.

I think have sme ADHD thing going on.

This stuff is truly daunting for me which others find simple.

I need help.

I subscibed to Reason but i just do not use it.

The routing is over my head.

Maybe I should move on?

I think Mixcraft may be my go?

Reason is really for tech wizards not old musos like me.

With Reason 12,simple stuff is daunting.

In Reaper i can pull up the actions list and just type what I want to do and run the action, amazing.

In Reason ,I add a wav drum loop.
I move the end parts of the loop to fit in the 4 bar line space.
When I hit play on the transport, the metronome is not playing in time.
In Reaper this happens automatically.

In Reason it seems, you have to search for stuff on the net all the time to get it working whereas in Reaper, things are more intuitive.

I right click the wav in Reason and it says "disable stretch" but it does not stretch when I adjust the end points of the wav file,it does not move the transients inside,it just moves the whole object.

In Reaper ,this is so easy to do.

Headaches galore andno music made using this DAW.

It has the most beautiful GUI of all,I love the look of it but it is a daunting piece of software for beginners.

Reaper is AMAAAZING,ugly as sin but it is so wonderful to use.

I tend to leave Reason to the side and forget everything when I finally open it up again.

I just find it a brainfart to use.

You said something along these lines about many hosts in the past. That does not eleveate your musical skills/ability in any way however (i.e. just because others have no problems dealing with this stuff this doesn't make them any less of a muso than you; if there is any correlation at all, it's surely a postive one)

All you need to do in Reason is to press crtl while adjusting the clip-length. A mentally handicapped seven year old could find that out in under a minute.

What about spending your energy on learning the tools you want to use instead of whining on a forum about them for a change?

It's really just you.

I just did that but it does not work.

The metronome is at 120 bpm and the wav at 100 bpm.

It does not time stretch when you hold control while moving the wav.

Post

I just did the same in Reaper,it time stretches the wav to 120 automatically,so much better.

It fits the wav to the timeline without fiddling around.

Why would you want to move the clip while seeking to adjust its playback-speed? That makes no sense.

It sounds like a political headline Boris Johnson would say.
