From what I've seen, many Thunderbolt 3 external drives are pretty pricey - not much difference to shelling out for expanding the internal from Apple, so maybe the Samsung T7 is a good option for a more reasonable outlay

You'll have a hard time actually noticing the difference unless you're using some of those obscenely large sample libraries that HAVE TO load a gigabyte of 96k/32bit release tails.

I use a T7 to extend storage of my M1 Max MBP and it's barely noticable even when copying largeish amount of files around.
