If you mean tape flanging, u-he Satin, otherwise the one that comes with your DAW will do the job just as well as anything else. Unless you're after special special FX.

This. Their Phase 90 is excellent as is the Electric Matter. If you need more control there's lots of options out there, but for $10 you can get an excellent flanger and a free phaser from Audiority. Can't beat that.Agreed wrote: Mon Apr 18, 2022 9:04 pm Audiority makes a free Phase 90 emulation and their Electric Matter (emulating an Electric Mistress) is at a $10 intro price right now. I did a demo clip for the latter in the thread for it here at KVR

Adam Szabo's Phazor is nice for free. Softube's Fix Phaser is absolutely awesome for 35 € (goes on sale for that price freqently). Downside on the Softube is the CPU usage. But, it's really the most juicy sounding phaser I ever used.

Can't find Phase 90 on their site. Is it still in development?Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote: Wed Apr 20, 2022 3:38 pm This. Their Phase 90 is excellent as is the Electric Matter.
Edit: Oh, you mean this... https://www.audiority.com/shop/dr-phase/ Looks a bit too limited for my usage.

It's got way more features than the originals.chk071 wrote: Wed Apr 20, 2022 3:48 pmCan't find Phase 90 on their site. Is it still in development?Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote: Wed Apr 20, 2022 3:38 pm This. Their Phase 90 is excellent as is the Electric Matter.

Try the plugin first. There's a Phase 45 mode (2 notches versus 4 on the Phase 90), a vintage mode (script versus block lettering), sync to tempo, input/output gain and mix. So definitely more than the speed control on the original. I've currently got a script Phase 90 and had a block version, and soundwise this feels spot on. And it's free so give it a go. Costs you nothing!chk071 wrote: Wed Apr 20, 2022 4:04 pm One parameter instead of none?
Looks pretty similar though?

For some reason, good sounding phasers seem to be more difficult to pull off well in the digital domain than you would think. Though we have a few now: the Arturia Bi-Phase, D16 FazorTan, NI Phasis are all good options.

Someone else mentioned it... my vote is definitely for the Eventide's Instant Flanger and Phaser (and I have many of others mentioned)..

I like the sound of these, but the Phaser has a really weird LFO shape that always causes me to replace it. If you do a slow phase, it kind of lingers at the bottom and pauses. Like the LFO gets stuck at a minimum value. Just sounds strange to me every time. So when it comes to phasers, I'd say Arturia, D16, Audiority, even Native Instruments have good ones. Even ValhallaDelay does a good phaser with the latest release. But that Eventide one is not for me. And I'm generally a big fan of them.zvenx wrote: Wed Apr 20, 2022 5:56 pm Someone else mentioned it... my vote is definitely for the Eventide's Instant Flanger and Phaser (and I have many of others mentioned)..

Spank my ass and call me Charlie, I didn't know they had effects. Thanks will have to check out.
I'm surprised no one has mentioned LFX 1310, very nice and free. I also like Valhalla Space Modulator.
Didn't care for Black Cat or Melda, but not saying they're bad, just didn't mesh with em.
