Looking for some good affordable Studio Monitor Headphones / Speakers

Ok guys I have made my choice of monitors and decided on the Presonus Eris 4.5 BT. I mostly chose it as they were cheap (Amazon Australia had them on special and were $50-100 cheaper than elsewhere) the reviews for the range were good and the bonus software and plugins helped their value too. I did have to go off others' opinions on the 4.5 version at least as both the 2 biggest music shops where I live didn't have these on display but at least they had the smaller 3.5 which was also very decent for their size. I did consider going for a 5" version but they were proportionally more expensive for the extra ~.7". I was also thinking maybe if I do want to get something better in the future these should be good for a few years without a big investment.

In testing so far I am very happy they sound great and a for sure a big step up from my old Logitech set. They seem very bright and offer good spacial separation too. The bass is a lot more punchy than I was expecting and can just get a hint of sub-bass which is cool. One shortcoming I think I am hearing is some male vocals seem to get lost and bit muddy which I am possibly thinking it may be if they are around the crossover which I think has a small dip in DB. I hope now with these and my new headphones I should be all set to greatly improve me mastering.

So far I would say they are at minimum a setup up from what I was using which at least suggests I didn't waste my money on them which is good. The highs are nice a bright and the bass is still decently strong. My first track mixed with them I think they were actually still a bit too big on the low end still so the mix when heard on other systems felt a bit lacking still. I think I may need to turn down the bass a bit more on the speakers to compensate at least while mixing.

You'll want a range of gear to listen to your rough drafts made with headphones and monitors, preview them on a car stereo, mp3 player/cell-phone, boombox, home theater with both soundbar and big speakers. Those in small towns should find a pro shop they can visit, verifying their inventory, testing setup, and returns policy. Make it a mini vacation, dine out, get a nice hotel to mitigate the drive yada yada. In general, make music a higher priority.

Lots of people have $10K cars, and would be happier with an $8K car, then dropping $2000
on quality gear, and never looking back.

a little bit over thje 200 but i recommend Austrian Audio Hi-X50.
if its to expensive, and its my second choice too for being outside, id go for the Audio-Technica ATH-M50X
