I dont like to insist on such things, so I only asked once.

To manually install (on windows) you copy the 'cardinal.vst' folder to your vstplugins folder completely intact. the 'resources' folder must remain within the 'cardinal.vst' folder for the plugin to find it.Chris-S wrote: Fri Sep 02, 2022 7:37 am I installed manually but black window only. win10
Vst2 version, copied the recources folder to program files\common files

Actually smylinks are supported by Windows, but not with the same syntax ... mklink is your friend. https://docs.microsoft.com/de-de/window ... nds/mklinkfalkTX wrote: Fri Sep 02, 2022 3:04 pmNo, I mean symlinks as in symbolic links.
I use those for the various build types that refer to the same common files but all build different objects, for example.
Symlink support on the filesystem is required in order to build Cardinal.
Which is not an issue on BSD, Linux, macOS and others. Only on Windows.
Using a "unix like shell" like MSYS2 would be the next option ...But I saw that your makefile makes some assumptions about what it needs on the system and where it tries to find stufff. so it kind of misses the cmake step to scan the system for which gcc / c it finds for instance and use a "generator" to build the makfile suitable to the system...
Please don't take this as complaint. Just as my excuse to don't get into trying to compile it. I think there's no way I can easily make it compile on msys2...

You need to have symlink support enabled in git, as well as having the necessary privilege assigned to the user. Evidently this can be assigned to non-admin users as well. https://github.com/git-for-windows/git/ ... olic-LinksfalkTX wrote: Fri Sep 02, 2022 6:36 pm afaik those symlinks require admin privileges, which is weird to ask when building stuff.
some recent windows 10/11 had better support for it, but have not checked that.

So you say mingw should be supported? It's cool that MSYS2 comes with different flavored shells. They offer mingw32, mingw64, clang, ... I give it a try, may be it works.falkTX wrote: Fri Sep 02, 2022 6:36 pm afaik those symlinks require admin privileges, which is weird to ask when building stuff.

and complaint not taken
I dont care about building stuff from windows, everytime I need to go into a windows machine to do development or testing I end up super frustrated.
Cardinal builds are anything but simple. Making it more complex with msys2 and whatever would be needed to support it is not worth it. I am happy we can cross-compile, bless me mingw that saves us from having to use Windows haha

Update: Cross fingers ... I have started "make plugins" ... and it does not immediately stop with a bunch of errors.

Sadly the build did not go through ... I think I will no longer invest more time. Thanks for support up to here, falkTX.falkTX wrote: Sat Sep 03, 2022 9:30 am mingw is how I build cardinal for windows, but I do it from a linux system

Other question - It looks like there's no OSC which offers unisono. Right?

Need help - I want to have a unison saw
I haven't found any OSCs supporting it by themselves.
Then I found the "unsion" module - I takes one input and detunes it to a selectable number of outputs.
But I was only able to use it when I connect the unison module to a split module and then use 8 clones of the same OSC.
Isn't it possible to go directly into a "polyphonic" OSC with the output of unison?

Here's first sketches with already a fattend up / unisono patch using BogAudio Unison module and some sick bdrs ... I like the bdr starting at 0:55 the most: https://soundcloud.com/p-e-t-e-r-h/my-h ... gn=asocial
It's still many miles to go for this track. Sound must become more mean and as usual the pathetic cliche stuff like risers and bass drops ...yeah... I will add them later.
