I'd hold off until there is a decent Black Friday offer before running the demo... or just waiting, till a later revision where you can properly test it out.

I'd rather see a buying price before committing to a trial. If there isn't a decent one I'm happy to wait as someone who's been happy with 4.6 Pro for several years already. 6.5 might be a year away.. so one can test the latest version then, before buying.

People have been saying they doubt Presonus will give BF discount this year since the version 6 is so new.

Yeah , I got that feeling as well , I bet they do a Black Friday Sphere thing though , watch they'll drop some Sphere exclusive stuff and bammm ...

Studio One 5 came out in July 2020, and PreSonus had 30% off Studio One that year on Black Friday.

I don't think you're going to find much lower. This upgrade is selling fine at $150, so they don't have much motivation to cut hard, even for BF. That said, I'd wait until BF is past before buying anything over about $20.

It's cheaper on Thomann US as opposed UK, does the key have a region lock? I'm in the EU, so will buying a key from a US retailer be a problem?

I don't know about a region lock. But it could be possible that the US price is without VAT.

Yeah, turns out it is. Forgot US prices almost always exclude VAT.
$129 including VAT is the best I found so far. I'll keep looking, thank you.
