Me, using Patchwork -as a plugin within other hosts- to host single plugins => so i can oversample these.
Do you see from your standpoint any weight towards one side, VST3 vs. AU ?

I´m not working with logic, and i´m only working on macs.
Just a thing of stability.

If I may, I would actually recommend VST2 over these two formats. VST2 has been around for decades and is (most of the time) still more stable than VST3 and AU.

When VST2 is not available, I would recommend using VST3 as it is compatible with Windows, so your sessions and presets can be loaded on Windows too (who knows!).

But stability-wise this may vary with each single plug-in, so you may have to try several formats - there is no rule, unfortunately.

Wow, now thats quite surprising for me.
i even don´t install any VST2 since quite some time.

Ok, i keep this in mind in case i run into problems with any plugin !

That's indeed not intuitive (and unfortunate), but VST3 is still not very stable for many manufacturers, even after all these years!

Version 2.66 is out! The improvements are nice, but I still would like to see poly-chaining and modulators (a la Bitwig's Instrument selector)

Not for the moment. It is the same for both real time and render.
