The audio system on MacOs (CoreAudio) is simple, robust, and just works. It's nothing like the jungle of different driver protocols on Windows (MME, WDM, ASIO, WASAPI) all having different buffering techniques resulting in different latencies.
Any application on MacOs connects to CoreAudio, so the stand-alone version of Pianoteq has the exact same latency as a DAW.
