oh man i'm nervous now, I just ordered the XL version and I have fruityloops. I think I may not open it until this is fixed so I can return it if it isn't fixed quickly.

You'll be safe enough, the issues seem to be with the v2.0.7/2.0.8 updates. Prior to installing 2.0.8, ST 2 XL was solid with updates upto v2.0.6 in both FL and Cubase.
Tbh, I'm mad at myself for not using the backup option when installing v2.0.8 (too trusting/stupid) especially after the issues reported with 2.0.7.

Got a reply from IK Tech Support saying while there is a problem with FL and ST2 2.0.8, a workround is to make sure the ST2 GUI is closed before saving.
I'd already tried that with no effect, ST2 2.0.8 still crashed FL 4.52 on exit.
Seemingly they run all ST updates thro' FL before releasing, tho' they may not be using FL 4.52 at the moment.

No news on the Cubase 5.1 problem tho', which is a shame as ST2 2.0.8 makes it totally unusable. They're looking into it, tho' the VST interfacing hasn't changed between 2.0.6 and 2.0.8, so are puzzled at to why there is now a problem.......and Cubase 5.1 is 'rather old now' :hihi:

Seemingly it's a problem with the FL wrapper and not a bug with ST2 2.0.8 itself. I've just been mailed by IK tech support to say a fix will be available asap called ST2 2.0.8.1 :D The workround of closing ST2, (not mimizing as I was doing :oops:) does work.

Also the problem with Cubase 5.1 has been fixed by reinstalling ST 2 2.0.8 again (over the top of the previous install in my case) IK tech support advise the removal/reinstallation of 2.0.8 if possible.

Just installed the 2.0.8.1 update and all's well with FL 4.52, no more crashing on exit :D

Actually going to wait till I hear back on this authorization problem. Still have yet to recieve a solution for LE and I am afraid I may have the same problem with the full version. Can someone from IK please post here or write me back?

Hey, I got an email back from IK, but I havn't tried it yet.

Here's the quote....
"Lets try this... go to C:\program files\sampletank 2 le\ST2LEPref and see if you have a file called ST2LEPref.txt if so DELETE it, now launch ST 2 and retry your codes and see if it works.

If it does NOT, then do this...go back and find the .txt file and double click on it. It should look like this..

BrowseDown=-1
BrowseLoad=-1
BrowseUp=-1
DxOutputs=4
FirstRun=no
FlatVelocity=100
GlobalSync=0
InstrumentPath=C:\Program Files\SampleTank 2 LE\STInstruments\
Mode=0
RegID= Your AUTH Code should be here
Reload=1
Serial=Your serial # should be here.

Its its NOT manually enter the codes in this file and resave...now give it a shot."

I got that same email and tried everything they said and it still didn't work. I emailed them back and told them this but since then have not heard from them. They were really good about contacting me for a bit but haven't heard from them in a bit.
