Does it have drum racks and the sampler ? I just don't want it to be like a Live Lite or intro .... What do you guys think of Essentials ???
It does have the sampler, although multisample editing is not supported, if that's useful to you. It does have the Drum Machine as well, if that's what you mean by drum racks.
Check out the feature list here: https://www.bitwig.com/feature-list/
Thanks , NO multi output VST on Essentials that's a deal breaker .

Well, it is the base version, they couldn't give everything, or people would not buy the higher versions :)

Yes, but proving once again that companies love their misnomers since it's actually missing some essentials while packing things in that aren't.
Which ironically keeps me from buying the higher versions.

Well anyways, I don't think multi output is an essential. Infact I never use it even on Bitwig Studio or any other DAW I've used. But hey, what's essential to me might not be essential to someone else and vice versa. To each their own :)

Bitwig 5 Essentials . I really only use multi out for drum samples stuff . To be honest I could mix right in to Addictive Drums and be fine with one stereo track for that . I wonder if there Bitwigs drum sampler " Drum Machine" would multi output on the Essentials version ???? I may have to email them . I'm really interested in this product .

No Grid users eh? So what do guys mainly do? Play loopty loop with clips?
Ask not what your DAW can do for you, but what you can do with your DAW

At least the Bitwig Drum Machine should multi out, being a stock plugin. I'd understand if they didn't provide the functionality for third party plugins, but at least this one should, maybe not all stock plugins, but the *Drum Machine* in the least, that's essential.

I don't do either :P
I just produce music with is it was a regular DAW, on the arrangement window. That's it.

they really did it. overcame the 8 or 16track limit mantra. this is a very good move for all newcomers. a good concept to step up from the starter version to the full studio on a small budgets

I was quite interested in the Producer-version and would most probably have ended up purchasing it, but then I realized that Bitwig still doesn't support ARA and I am certainly not going to spend any money on a DAW without ARA-support in 2023
(jeez, what are they thinking?)

They are thinking that there are plenty of people (like me) who are happy to buy their DAW even though it doesn't have ARA support

ARA you serious?

Well in that case, they should release it exclusively for the essentials version as you have zero interest in it.

ARA is not essential, so that would be inappropriate :hihi:

I am sensing irony, sarcasm, a little hatred. Be happy, everyone. :)

In all seriousness, I have never had an interest in Bitwig up untill the release of the "Essentials" version. None of the other stuff like "modulation", "Grid", included content, etc has the slightest appeal to me. But "Essentials" has everything that I need. I do own melodyne 5 Editor, and to think that if I buy Bitwig I will not be able to use it seems odd. It should be in Bitwig, Its a no brainer.
