Definitely going to upgrade this to support you Markus. Your synthesizers as still at the top of the list when it comes to unique sound output. I have Gladiator, Icarus and Electra X and I love em all dearly!
.. but please PLEASE PLEASE make more modulation slots for all your synthesizers! They are so capable and yet so damn compromised with the tiny mod matrices. Especially Electra X!!!!

Looking forward to this.
Gladiator was my first Tone2 intro and did I abuse it in so many projects
.
One thing I have always found puzzling with Tone2 stuff cause i have never seen a request and for me it is the most glaring request and makes me want to question if maybe I am missing it.
A Preset Browser that I can search for stuff.. The preset Browser tags each patch but I am not sure how I use this info. Nice to look at, but I can't search for patch by name, by type by rating etc.
I would love to have this in your plugins Markus.
Also that I can use arrow up and down to navigate patches once I am in the preset browser.

The issue that we plugin devs need to deal here is that is it technically impossible to create a keyboard input that does work reliable in all DAWs on the market. As a result, we can get complains by customers that the plugin would not work properly.zvenx wrote: Wed Aug 09, 2023 2:19 am Looking forward to this.

The DAW can 'steal' hotkeys that are then never forwarded to the plugin. Example: When you use the 'Space' key in Orion (=play / stop) this keyboard input is never forwarded to a loaded plugin. Other DAWs steal other hotkeys. You can never be sure what keys reach the plugin at all.
As a result a search function could appear 'buggy' for many customers.
I noted your request for being able to use the arrow up/down keys in the patch browser. I added it to the requests for future updates.
You can also use the mousewheel for this purpose. I added support for in in Gladiator4.

Thank you for supporting our small company!bmanic wrote: Tue Aug 08, 2023 11:02 pm Definitely going to upgrade this to support you Markus. Your synthesizers as still at the top of the list when it comes to unique sound output. I have Gladiator, Icarus and Electra X and I love em all dearly!
Up to 15 modulation slots for Electra3 are possible per layer. This would be 60 (15 * 4 layers) modulation slots in total.

@Markus - wonderful job with G4! Sorry for bit off topic, but any chance for FilterBank 3 update to v4? Great plugin but desperately needs filters update and some oversampling.

What? Nope!!? Am I missing some secret update? I am running ElectraX v3.2.1 which seems to be the latest available and there are only 10 mod slots per layer.Markus Krause wrote: Wed Aug 09, 2023 7:03 am Up to 15 modulation slots for Electra3 are possible per layer. .. if it was 15 I'd be much more satisfied indeed! Then it'd be just barely enough for most things whereas with just 10 slots it's most definitely not even remotely close to being enough for expressive presets that use a lot of velocity/aftertouch/modwheel targets.
Anyhow, sorry for the off topic!

Congratulations! Any chance of supporting Linux users with a Linux binary or possibly supporting Linux through the Windows binary and WINE?

(Also: I'm Accused of lying about Linux—it boots, runs my pro audio workflow, stays stable, updates--though yearly dismissed as “niche”. Yet I'm the deluded one.)

Most of their synth demos work OK in my AVLinux-wine. Some very impressive sounds, to be sure.
And with nice gui/controls. There was one that had some issue, but it was an old version of wine, and I was too short on time at that point to explore.
Cheers

The older versions of our products (older than 10 months) still use GDI+ as a GUI framework. They work well with WINE on Linux as long as you don't have a low-end computer.
The newer versions of our products use Direct2D with hardware acceleration.
Direct2D is a 2D vector graphics application programming interface (API) designed by Microsoft.
Direct2D takes advantage of hardware acceleration via the graphics processing unit (GPU) found in compatible graphics cards. It offers high visual quality and fast rendering performance.
I am not sure how well WINE implemented the Direct2D emulation. But I guess a proper emulation has a very high priority as a lot of software uses it.
You can download a free demo from our website and to run a quick test if you are on Linux:
https://www.tone2.com/download.html
If you should run into trouble you still can install an older version from here: https://www.tone2.com/download-for-pc-old.html

Thanks for the response
It looks like WINE has supported direct2d 1.2 since version 4.0. What version of direct2d do your apps require?
