Why no one is talking about Waves StudioVerse ?

Is the selling point the presets made by famous people or the actual chaining of effects? Just asking, cos can't all DAWs do that? Serious question, as I don't use all DAWs. Would be surprised if they can't all do that though.

That's the gimmicky part of it.kritikon wrote: Tue Sep 19, 2023 9:59 pm Is the selling point the presets made by famous people or the actual chaining of effects? Just asking, cos can't all DAWs do that? Serious question, as I don't use all DAWs. Would be surprised if they can't all do that though.
The selling point is that Studioverse will scan your track and provide a number of suggestions to apply, based on the scanned content.
The chain of effects, provided by well-known producers and engineers is supposed to add legitimacy to the end product... Supposedly, anyone can use this and then sound like a pro.
The catch is that you will need to own most or all of the Wave plugins for it to begin to be useful.
The double catch... you still need to know what you doing to make it work for you and then make it sound like a cohesive track.
Sooo... Maybe, this might help some mixing engineers in a tight spot, who are asked to provide a mix based on whatever artist. Some crap, like that.

Waves rocks, love 'em, haven't tried or really looked into this thing though, but have read it has it's market and has been received well amongst the parishioners.

Probably not talking about it, since people will read option 2 (subscription) and either
a) shut the site down
b) remember the subscription fiasco and how Waves back tracked quickly and shut the site down.
(even though there is an option to just use it)

I have studioverse and a lot of waves plug-ins, but wasn’t convinced. It’s more like a random preset, if you enter to your channel ‚bass‘
So you go through 1000 bass presets. The AI does not Liston, it searches for bass chain. Most of them sounded terrible to my tracks

My summary :
StudioVerse is replacing StudioRack and has 2 plugins, one for FX, one for instruments.
Whilst some people may like or hate the online presets part, the key benefits of the plugins are :
- they are free !!
- the audio FX gives you multiband for all your VST3
- it makes saving complex FX chains easy, with functionality that the DAW may not have
- macro functions for easy tweaking, if you use chains often this can be a real time saver
- the instrument plugin allows for instruments + FX, so you can build and recall your super-instruments easily, I find this amazing! For example some synths lack good FX, you can using StudioVerse make your killer patches with multiband and parallel and have deeply customised sounds.
I may not use them all the time, but I have already created super patches with them that I will happily recall.
One point of improvement would be if the list of VST3 plugins appeared as sorted in the DAW, as opposed to listed by manufacturers ... I forget brands, my plugins are sorted by category.
But small gripe for an awesome plugin set, which is free. Totally recommended.
