it's a shame there isn't a cheaper download version available.

I don't need a box and all that.

(I haven't tested it properly yet anyway, so I'll just shut up and do it)

 Yes, you do that!

There are actually 2 CDs in the box - the second contains more than 5000 royalty free loops, a good proportion of which are surprisingly useful and well done.

Also there's the manual, which you will probably find useful to read in detail. Although Audition is a very intuitive program that is quite easy to use, if you're anything like me you will find that Audition offers editing tools that you simply haven't come across or even dreamed of before... so the manual provides a good introduction. It's all in the HELP screens, of course, but you won't be reading them in bed or on the train!

In addition though you may be interested in the book "Audio Editing with Adobe Audition" by Richard Riley (also available from Amazon) which is more readable and in many ways more useful than the official manual, because it is written in a more discursive manner. I certainly found it helped me a lot to understand some more indepth stuff about audio editing - and it is actually readable enough to make genuine bedtime reading 8) . Well worth the price.

And as for the box itself, well I've never seen cardboard of such a high quality before. Truly a cardboard-defining moment

HI

These people are offering Adobe Audio V1 for 89 euros!

Don't know if it will be good for an upgrade - Adobe say it's £60 from V1 to V1.5 - so this looks like a mega deal, the company is -
