I have very good experience with orange oil cleaner. Used it for a Push 1 and i was able to get rid of that „soft grip“ stuff.stoopicus wrote: Sat Nov 25, 2023 8:43 pmYeah, not looking forward to this as my Keylab ages.sin night wrote: Sat Nov 25, 2023 7:50 am There’s just one thing though: the sticky rubber on the controls. You’ll have to clean it at some point (or, if you buy used, hopefully the previous owner already did it); it’s an unavoidable fate and it’s no fun.

My Kobol Expander arrived last night. Having bought Behringer gear before, I am really surprised. It's super solid, very high build quality. Like, probably better than the original synth. Zero noise even cranked as well; all other Behringer gear I have had was noisy AF. This is a very nice synth for the price, sounds great.
Pro-1 should arrive today as well. I knew getting 12U of free rack space was a bad idea

If anyone is selling a Minibrute or Microbrute, I just put up a WTB in the buy/sell forum. Please feel free to PM me if you're interested in selling one.

This is a really helpful post. I didn't take to my 2S either. It is sitting on a shelf. I'll dust it off and see if I can reign it in as you suggested.
foosnark wrote: Fri Nov 24, 2023 11:19 pm I love my Minibrute 2S. I find that it's not hard to rein it in so it's not aggressive, depending on what kind of sounds you're looking for with it. Staying light on the resonance, not pushing the osc mixer sliders all the way up since it tends to saturate, and oddly, dialing in maybe 1/4 to 1/3 on Brute Factor kind of smooths things out more so than leaving it down fully.
I have mine paired up with a Make Noise Strega and they work really well together.

I just pulled the trigger on a MicroBrute RED, because I really liked the sound of the filter in that it is completely different sounding than the ones on my two other monosynths (Kobol Expander and Pro-1). The thing is tiny, cute, and has a much edgier and rougher sound than either of my others, which can handle the more standard sound range. Plus, of course, all the softsynths can too.

I agree. Arturia's Steiner Parker filter is a great sounding and very flexible filter. Congrats on the RED!stoopicus wrote: Tue Dec 12, 2023 9:04 pm I just pulled the trigger on a MicroBrute RED, because I really liked the sound of the filter...

I've owned the Microbrute twice. It was my first hardware synth and I really had no idea what I was doing and sold it maybe a year later.
I bought it again last year because I saw one at a bargain price, well turns out it was kind of broken but in a quite hilarious way where the oscillator wouldn't stay in tune at all and it really squealed at me. Knob turns could be completely unpredictable. I mean, it's not a musical monosynth anyway, but the second one I owned had so much character
Ultimately couldn't justify keeping it so sold it as spares and repairs, wish I'd made some samples first though

Yeah digging this one. And I would say it can be a very musical monosynth, depending on the style of music you likeThunderingMantis wrote: Mon Dec 18, 2023 10:48 pm I've owned the Microbrute twice. So much edge in such a little box.

Mini brute also works in French.
Brute is most likely an English word of french origin.
Often skipped over in history France effectively ruled over England from 1066 to 1204 and French was the official language. Amongst many other words, you can basically assume any word ending in -ment or -ine have come from French.
