I took a look-see at your other devices and I was so impressed I also checked how much the Live version with Max costs. Sadly, $600 is a week bit too much for a 7th DAW (yes, I know, but I've been doing this a long time). Do MFL devices work with not-Live Max? I will be looking into that after work.

You seem to be into the same kind of DSP craziness that I love, but with the skills to actually make them. Very, very cool.

Yes, you can load M4L devices into Max/MSP…

Keep in mind the neural network organizes slices by their spectral features PER SPECTRAL FRAME (1024 samples), so if you are looking for it to cluster sound by spectral features over multiple seconds it won't work like that (it'll still cluster them but maybe not meaningfully for your use case). For individual vowels/consonances and other speech sounds should work better.
Ah.. thanks, I hadn't noticed/realized that. Will still be fun. I'll chop-up some 'Klingon' dialogue.
I'm not a musician, but I've designed sounds that others use to make music. http://soundcloud.com/obsidiananvil

Yes you can drop it into an unlocked max patcher. I have done brief tests and it seems to run fine and recall snapshots as well. the only disclaimers for doing like this are:
(1) It's not well tested in max standalone so it's possible there are issues, if so just contact me: dillonbastan@gmail.com
(2) You cannot use the bundled presets as they were made for ableton
